Pull the shade up on the sun

Let life hit me in the eye

And never blink until I’m done

Gonna’ bring memories alive

With pictures that are new

As we walk on thru

Hello new!

I saw you standing in the other line

And couldn’t take my eyes off of you

I even changed lanes three or four times

Just so I could leave the same time as you

I tried to be invisible

As I raced you to the door

Hoping you wouldn’t notice

My tripping over my heart

Pounding on the floor

Everyone was watching us

As we both stood face to face

A real life soap opera

Waiting to see if we embrace

Serendipity in the making

With nothing in our way

Just those smiling faces

Waiting to see

If you stay, or walk away.

As I watch the curtain raise

With the overture of what’s to come

I see her reaching out to me

And my heart starts beating like a drum

It’s only make believe for me

This imaginary love I feel

On this stage night after night

Wishing it was really real

Just trying to strike a chord

In this story time romance

But, when the music stops

So does the singing and the dance

When the curtain comes down

To the crescendo of applause

I get one final glance of her

As we take our final bows

That’s all that time allows

Until tomorrow night

When I watch the curtain raise again

To an imaginary inner light

We rode our bicycles

Hurrying to the falls

To watch the melting icicles

Bring spring, as winter stalls

Hooked on just a feeling

You and I just holding hands

Just youth freewheeling

And making no demands

That feeling hasn’t changed

And either has the falls

Though youth’s been rearranged

Spring still comes, as winter stalls

Still hooked

On a feeling

Still hooked

On freewheeling

Still hooked on us
