There are ways of storing one s best quiz questions-you can copy them on index cards and file them, save them in a Word document on your computer, ask your daughter to neatly write them down in her diary, print them on your t-shirt, and so on and so forth.
I must confess I ve tried most of these methods and, in the process, have lost many of my good questions. It was getting to be quite a bother. Then one day one of my colleagues suggested publishing a series of books that would contain my best questions. The idea of The Best Quizzes of Derek O Brien was born.
This book contains seventy-five of my favourite sets which are the result of a decade-long search for interesting facts. This is not a conventional quiz book full of random questions and answers, but a thematic exploration of various areas of knowledge. We have included an introduction to each set to allow readers that necessary pause before the first questions are fired. Some of these introductions are whimsical and personal but they are all there with the same purpose-to encourage reading.
Team Derek believes in making knowledge interesting to help people grow . This is a book designed with the hope that it will make the reader want to know more, and to grow.
