The Southern Mole
Bless my soul.
I just saw a mole.

He ran in that hole.
He sure did look old.

He came from Alabama, so I’m told.
That’s why that mole is so cold.

He is from the South.
He was born saying, “Hush your mouth!”

He comes up north and says, “Burr!”
“How about lending me a coat, sir?”

Home he went, this southern mole.
He wanted to eat grits from his bowl.
