About the Authors
Dr. Brijesh Bakariya Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Jalandhar (Punjab) has his Ph. D. Degree from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (NIT-Bhopal), Madhya Pradesh in Computer Applications (2016). He received MCA Degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya,Indore (Madhya Pradesh) in Computer Applications (2009). He has been teaching since 2009 and guiding M.Tech/ Ph.D students. In the mean time he published many research papers in SCI publications in the area of Data Mining, Image Processing Social Networking. He has attended various International Conferences, STTP’s, FDP’s, Workshops and Seminars.
Dr. Kulwinder Singh Parmar Assistant Professor in Department of Applied Sciences, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Jalandhar (Punjab) has his Ph. D. Degree Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi in Mathematics (2014). He received M.Phil Degree from Shobhit University, Meerut in Mathematics (2008). He received M.Sc. Degree from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in Mathematics (2006). He has been teaching since 2008 and guiding M.Phil/ Ph.D students. In the mean time he published many research papers in SCI publications in the area of Mathematical Modeling, Wavelet-Fractal-Chaos, Nonlinear Dynamics, Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences, Fuzzy Mathematics, Neural Networking, and Optimization Techniques. He has attended various International Conferences, STTP’s, FDP’s, Workshops and Seminars.
About the Reviewer
Md Abdul Aziz , currently working as Staff Engineer at VMware Software India Pvt Ltd, graduated from IIIT-Hyderabad with CSE degree (Honors in Data Engineering) in 2007. Aziz is passionate about open-source projects and, in his leisure time, works on Linux kernel projects, open stack, and cloud computing. Aziz delivered lectures and talk on topics of IPv6, Linux Networking stack, Cloud Technologies at prestigious institutions like NIT-Warangal, PESIT, RVCE. Aziz has a patent, Multi-node Virtual Switching System (USPTO DN/20140204805). This is an era of information technology and we emphasize on problem solving techniques using MATLAB. This book clears detail concepts about various basics and fundamental concepts and techniques of MATLAB such as Expressions, MATLAB Commands, Data Types, Variables, Operators, Decision Statements, Loops, Array, Matrix, Vector, String, Function, Importing and Exporting, Plotting a graph, 2D and 3D Graphics, Basic algebra and Transforms. This book is useful for constructing own efficient tools and algorithms It is also useful for simulation and tools. This book is written for B.Tech. /B.E., M.Tech. /M.E.,M.Phil/Ph.D students. The book is organized in 14 chapters and brief content is as follows:
Chapter 1 provides the basics of MATLAB and their features.
Chapter 2 provides expressions and basic commands of MATLAB.
Chapter 3 provides data types, variables and operators.
Chapter 4 provides decision control statements such as if, else and switch statements.
Chapter 5 provides loops control statements.
Chapter 6 provides detail concepts about vectors and their operations.
Chapter 7 provides all the concepts about matrix and their operations.
Chapter 8 provides basics of array and it’s predefined and user defined functions.
Chapter 9 provides detail concepts about strings and its functions.
Chapter 10 provides introduction of function types, some predefined and user defined functions.
Chapter 11 provides importing and exporting of data.
Chapter 12 provides plotting a graph, 2D and 3D plots.
Chapter 13 provides Graphics, types of graphics and its functions.
Chapter 14 provides basic algebra in MATLAB, solving some equations using predefined and user defined functions.
All the basic concepts and techniques have been discussed in above chapters, however, for practice session students may follow chapter wise review exercises. Although the content has been supervised by many senior educationists, there may be some shortcomings. As human is prone to errors, authors wish to forgive the mistakes and we welcome your suggestions and criticism if any! The authors will try their best to incorporate such valuable suggestions in the subsequent editions of this book.
