Sigourney Weaver (born Susan Alexandra Weaver; October 8, 1949) is an American actress.

She is best known for her critically acclaimed role of Ellen Ripley in the four Alien films: Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, and Alien Resurrection, for which she has received worldwide recognition (she was also a co-producer for the latter two films).
Weaver has received three Academy Award nominations and six Golden Globe Award nominations, winning two in 1988 (Best Actress in Drama and Best Supporting Actress) for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, becoming the first person ever to have won two acting Golden Globe Awards in the same year.
