What Wendy has done with Busy Doing What? is pushed us to ask the toughest questions. What and who matters the most to you? Without the answer to those pressing questions, we could spend our time in motion but not on purpose. This book is a clarifying call to live with deeper sincerity. I wish I had read this book a before I went to college! It is not only genius in its content and richly entertaining but is also timely in response to the greatest threat to mankind’s ability to address the escalating number of issues that can only be solved if we learn how to focus, prioritize, and make every moment count.
— Dr. Tracy Payne, Research Faculty and Principal Investigator, University of South Florida
I loved Busy Doing What? I even worked through all the exercises. As someone who has sought treatment for social anxiety and ADHD, the action steps that were created were incredibly similar to the ones given by therapists to help curb procrastination behavior. I believe Wendy’s book is a powerful tool in helping people manage and take control of their lives. The participation aspect of the book is key to helping the audience internalize the messaging of the book. I can see groups of people using it as a guidebook and working through it together. I like the way Wendy uses anecdotes and symbolism to help lay people understand the concepts that are being imparted. The writing is warm, and I felt like I was being spoken to by an old friend.

I would like to dedicate this book to my two older brothers, Greg and Martin Freeman, my guardian angels who left this earth too soon, in the same year. They both fondly called me “Baby Sister,” and I will forever miss their voices. I am so grateful that I was busy living, loving, and laughing with them regularly until they left this Earth.

Introduction
In the chapters ahead you will be introduced to the many tools and stories that will help you make better decisions on how to best spend your time. I encourage you to read with expectation and anticipation, with the hope that “Busy doing what?” will be a question you will be able to confidently answer. I suggest you read this book with a pen and notebook in hand, allowing you the space to reflect on the “busy steps” at the end of each chapter and engage in answering each question.
Remember that this book is in no way a one-size-fits-all solution. Instead, it is intended to take you through a pleasant and joyous journey, through the lives and experiences of others. You will find many examples that may help you discover your solution. There may only be one or two points that apply to you, or maybe many more. The most important thing to understand is that you are the only person who can decide what is best and what works for you! It is up to you to determine your best BUSY: believing undeniably that success is yours!
Please be prepared to laugh, cry, scream, and write. Laugh about the things that resonate and are comical. Cry about those areas of frustration that seem insurmountable—until now. Scream when you read and relate to something that calls for outward expression and release. Write your thoughts, desires, and visions as you reflect and ponder.
After completing this book, you will have the tools to live by, the questions to uncover, and the motivation and courage to make wholesale changes in your life. Hopefully, you will finish it with a good idea of what your “busy” should look like and what making every moment count looks like for your life. The shutdown of the 2020 global pandemic really taught us that we can pivot in life if we must. It clearly showed us how we can stop everything that we are doing and refocus. We learned that we can own our time and make the best decisions for our future. The shutdown made it clear how valuable time is. During the shutdown many people launched new businesses, wrote books, and created award-winning songs. Some folks reconnected with family, met their children, learned to cook, or started an exercise program. Before the pandemic some of us thought owning our own schedules was impossible.
Over the next several chapters we will explore the journey to finding out how we can have it all, do it all, and see it all and not be too busy to enjoy it all ! Busy doing what? Making every moment count.
