God has endowed man with three special qualities - Reasoning, Promise and Conduct . Man has the capacity to think, which is found in no other living creature. Only man has the power to make and keep promises, which all other animals lack. So also, only man has the power to change his conduct. Therefore, you are capable of doing everything. You can fly in the sky, swim in the ocean and undertake the biggest risks to reach the pinnacles of success.

If you make a search for books related to ‘taking risks’ on Yahoo, Google, or Amazon, you will find little or no options. But if you look for books on ‘personality development’, there will be a list of more than a thousand books. Hence I decided to write a book titled, ‘Higher the Risk, Greater the Success’. According to the spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, “Man sculpts his own fate. He makes or ruins his life, through his own thoughts, desires, and work.”
This implies what you choose today can change your life. So ask yourself, “Can I take risks? Can I achieve success and greatness?” If you have a positive answer to even one of these questions, then you must surely read this book because in the pages ahead you shall find the explanation to solutions to these questions, and also the methods to execute them.

God has created everything for you to seek abundant happiness and joy, and to taste the fruits of success. He has no intentions to make you live a life of poverty and misfortune. The history of the world has a galore of tales of people who lived in abject poverty, but reached great heights. There are also stories about people whose abilities were doubted, yet they became great. Studies on the life of such people reveal that all of them chose to take risks and face difficulty that came their way. They were optimistic, and for them nothing was impossible because they believed that ‘if there is drought then there will be rain, if there is fire there is also water, if there is Earth below, one will also find sky above, if there is creation there is also destruction, if flowers exist, thorns also will be found, if there is sand, then one can also find gold, to achieve something you must be prepared to lose something; if you work then luck will certainly come your way; if there is victory there is also defeat.’
So be prepared to take risks in life, turn what is impossible to possible and achieve great success. My good wishes are also with you.

What can risk taking ability do for you?
I can recall an incident which occurred last year. The Chief Minister of the State of Jharkhand, accompanied by his wife and a legislator was travelling to Kharsava by helicopter. During the flight, the pilot detected a fault in the engine and planned an emergency landing. When the pilot tried to land at the runway at Ranchi airport, the pilot noticed to his horror that the helicopter was precariously tilting to the right, and the propeller of the helicopter could hit the tarmac with disastrous results. It could even cause the machine to go up in flames, killing all on board.
But to everybody’s fortune, pilot’s good sense and presence of mind prevailed, and he immediately took off the helicopter and continued flying until he could establish contact with the air-traffic controller. The pilot informed them that his aircraft had developed a serious mechanical fault and one of its wheels had also bent, and requested them to prepare for an emergency landing. The traffic controller then enquired how much fuel was remaining in the aircraft. On knowing that the fuel was sufficient for the aircraft to keep flying for 15-20 minutes, the traffic controller advised the pilot to keep hovering over the airport till the fuel was exhausted. Without fuel, the helicopter would certainly crash, but will not catch fire.
The pilot followed these instructions, and allowed the helicopter to drop from a height of 25 feet. Of course the people in the aircraft got hurt, but their lives were saved. This incident gave me a formula “the greater the risk the greater is the success”.
Such risky incidents frequently occur in our daily life, whether be it in business, in jobs that we perform, or in the family. When we begin to take risks like the pilot did, we are able to elevate our lives on to a higher level of achievements.
Basic principles and concepts included in this book will inspire you and boost your morale. You will begin to earn more from your business, exhibit your abilities and talents better in a job, in sports, or in politics. You will also win the heart of your spouse, and your loved ones.
