Tips I learnt from my personal journey:
These are some further lessons which I have learned throughout my life. Finding your purpose is just the beginning. Use these tips to guide you when you begin your journey of being part of something bigger than yourself. These lessons are here to encourage you to add more to the world, keep your grounded, make the most of your passions and to lift you up when you feel like you have no idea what you are doing! (I’ve been there countless of times). • Don’t always listen to society; • It’s ok to be selfish when it comes your life purpose; • It’s important if it’s important to you; • Grab opportunities; • Know that it’s going to be a rollercoaster; • Take small steps; • Ensure your income is larger than your expenses; • Create a mission and not a career; • You can have more than one mission; • Remember that your mission can change; • Model other people; • You are the master of your destiny.
Don’t always listen to society:
After many years of unsatisfactory work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with heart. Despite having no formal qualiîcations or experience, she ended up spending several years caring for patients who were in the last 12 weeks of their lives. Later, in her blog, she recorded the most common regrets expressed to her by the people she had cared for. After over 3 million people read her blog, she put all her observations into a book called “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying.” One of the îve regrets is this:
“I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” This was the most common regret of all. When people looked back, they left so many dreams unfulîlled. People go through life pursuing plan B instead of Plan A. Just look at those around you, I’m sure you know a few of people who are doing exactly 38
