Lisa Campion has made a valuable connection between Reiki training, intuition, and psychic ability. Many people who dive into the world of Reiki find themselves opening up to their psychic selves and can feel lost. Preface: Why Psychic Reiki?
Reiki is one of the simplest and most intuitive forms of energy healing. It’s a gentle, powerful hands-on energy technique from Japan that anyone can learn. (If you aren’t yet familiar with the basics of Reiki, you will learn them all in chapter 1.) Learning Reiki can open up our latent sensitivity and our psychic ability. If you are already intuitive and empathic, you may become more so as you go through the levels of Reiki training. Many people have found that when their psychic abilities open up, they feel lost, scared, and confused about what is happening. Sadly, they may even stop practicing Reiki because they are too freaked out about their psychic experiences. This is a terrible loss, because deeply sensitive people are almost always gifted healers.
I believe more than anything that the world needs all the healers it can get. I started practicing as a psychic over thirty years ago, when I was just about twenty years old. I began to weave energy work into my psychic sessions and did all my readings with my clients on a Reiki table. It was a natural combination of modalities for me. I am also a longtime Reiki teacher, and I came to realize that many of my Reiki students needed psychic development as Reiki began to open their sensitivities, so I started teaching them together as Psychic Reiki. Psychic Reiki, which weaves together traditional Reiki training and psychic development, is a perfect pairing. I think it’s wonderful that people who study Reiki can expand and develop their psychic natures. All they need is the right training.
My approach to teaching Reiki is experience based and eclectic. All Reiki teachers teach from a different angle, so my hope is that you will benefit from my approach. I’m a big fan of learning from as many teachers as you can, so I honor your previous teachers and hope you learn something from me too. Thank you for making me part of your Reiki journey.

Introduction
During the two decades that I’ve been teaching Reiki, I’ve noticed that my students have tons of natural psychic ability and most are empaths. This makes sense as psychics and empaths tend to be drawn to healing work and have a natural talent for it. Empathy and psychic ability are powerful tools of the healer. Identifying and developing psychic and empathic abilities should be a part of learning Reiki. If you’re already psychic and empathic, learning Reiki will open you up deeply and quickly. This can be confusing and frightening if you don’t understand what’s happening.
Both psychic and healing abilities are by-products of spiritual growth, and Reiki is a powerful spiritual-growth path. Psychic ability expands naturally as we grow spiritually. Yet, there are always bumps along the path that require more integration and growth and Reiki helps immensely with this. Learning Reiki heals us, connects us, and helps us to integrate our healing, psychic, and empathic abilities in a healthy way.
