About the Author
When the author left Namibia to study as part of a poverty alleviation programme at Manchester University, it was her passion to return home and make a difference. She thought she was going to learn how to catch fish. But to her despair, they did not teach her how to catch fish. Instead, they taught her how to provide people with fish and make them come back for more. The course didn’t reach her expectations, but it did fuel her passion to search further to identify the causes of poverty.
Whilst searching for the answer to assuage poverty in her community, a quotation from Albert Einstein went over and over in her head: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them. The solution is not where the problem is.” This was the problem she had been grappling with while studying poverty alleviation. She then flipped the coin and began to study successful people. What do they all have in common? What traits do they share? Her findings were astonishing—they all seemed to have one thing in common, and that one thing that seems to have fuelled their success is what the author desires to share with you.

Preamble
We live in an arrested planet that has become caught up in the throes of war, where ethics, morals and power are in constant conflict. History has shown that those in power often take from those with less power, resorting to war as it suits them. There should be another way to thrive and survive—mutual trust and help should be the order.
As a child, I was happy. However, growing up in a war zone stripped away my childhood and affected me psychologically. The horrific images I observed during the war were embedded in my memory, and as time went by, the bubbly, happy girl that I was became disfigured by anger, frustration and insecurity. We all felt like victims and blamed the world for our misfortunes. In the coming years, neither counselling nor medication could help me find myself again.
I desperately clung onto the happy, bubbly, laughing girl that I used to be, longing to have her back. I hated the person I became. I knew I had to do something to find myself again. But, the question remained: how to go about finding myself?
My dream was to move to Europe and leave behind the war and poverty, but I did not have the means or a roadmap to get there. I would often lie down on the ground outside my bedroom hut, watch the stars and try to conceive a way to get to Europe—I didn’t know how to achieve my dreams, and that frustrated me.
Fast-forward 20 years. I have a life and family in England. Needless to say, my dream to move to Europe came true. Through a series of events and by visualising my desire strongly enough, the roadmap to Europe was revealed to me in a mysterious way. I was overjoyed when I received a phone call inviting me to attend a three-month course to study poverty alleviation in England. This related to the work I had been doing within communities in Namibia. I grabbed the opportunity with a grateful and open heart. Even though the war had ended by then, my European dream never died.
England is a wealthy country; they will teach us how they became wealthy , I thought. “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”—Chinese proverb. YES! Soon I will learn how to catch fish. I am going to study and come back to teach my community how to alleviate their poverty. That was the plan. It was my passion to return home and to make a difference.
But to my despair, they did not teach us how to catch fish. Instead, they taught us how to provide people with fish and make them come back for more. The course didn’t reach my expectations, but it did fuel my passion to alleviate poverty back home. The program was good for masking the symptoms of poverty. It permitted a step forward and then two steps back, so made very little active progress.
The poverty programmes I worked on were no different to the ones I studied at university. Some alleviation programmes were effective within limits; never enough to move targeted population out of poverty. Nevertheless, progress was made.
Whilst searching for an answer to assuage poverty in my community, a quotation from Albert Einstein went over and over in my head: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” I tried to understand the practical implications of Einstein’s insight. This was the problem I had been grappling with while studying poverty alleviation. Later on, I read an article headed ‘Three Things Rich People Don’t Want You to Know’. I thought perhaps there are more than three things rich people don’t want us to know; perhaps there is more to uncover. I began to study successful people. What do they all have in common? What traits do they share? I started to uncover information. My findings were astonishing—they all seem to have one thing in common; one thing seems to have fuelled their success.
Through my research I came across the mystic books, The Hermetic Principals , The Emerald Tablet of Hermes (Greek) and The Emerald Tablet of Thorn (Egyptian). These books and their contents have been hidden from public view. According to some published sources, the last two books of The Emerald Tablet of Thorn still have not been released into the public domain. After reading these books, I realised why certain societies are wealthier than others. Some elitist societies possess the knowledge to a secret that makes them wealthy and powerful. These elite groups have an unquestioning faith in their right to manipulate the rest of the population.
Here I had all the overwhelming information. Still, I was banging my head against the wall because I had information in my hand. Yet still, I couldn’t figure out how to apply this information to my own life. I had a bunch of keys but there was only one door, and my job was to find out which of the keys unlocked the door. Even though I was mystified by the challenge, I refused to accept a life of mediocrity and depression. Instead, I was determined to get it right. If other people could learn how to catch fish and sustain growth using this information, why not me? Lesson 15 in The Master Key System explains that knowledge unused passes from the mind and the value of information is in the application of principle. I resolved not to let this knowledge pass from my mind but to apply this information following the principles I had discovered.
The universal law states that we need not worry how to achieve some goal. We can trust nature to take care of that. We only have to know what we want. Our job is to design, ask, believe and be ready to receive. Even though I did not know the laws at the time, I realise in retrospect that when I wanted something, determined
