#1

Everything is energy. Subtle energy practitioners are specialists in noticing, tracking, diagnosing, and moving energy, the noticeable and the less concrete energy that composes disease and leads to imbalance.

#2

Subtle energy medicine is the study and application of the body’s relationship to electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields, as well as light, sound, and other forms of energy. It is healthcare that detects and analyzes energy imbalances, and it treats the whole person.

#3

Energy is the source of power that can be used to accomplish work or a goal, or to create an effect. It is also defined as vibration that talks. Energy is really just information that carries a message.

#4

The most basic vital energies include electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetic fields. Every cell and organ of our bodies pulses with electricity, which generates magnetic fields. These fields combine to create electromagnetic fields, which spread out from us and connect us to every other living being.

#5

The theory of quantum entanglement shows how, through the universal field, we can effect change in people we know or have met. It explains that two or more objects that have once connected can still affect each other even when they’re separated.

#6

The two types of energy, subtle and physical, are often the same at one level. They are interchangeable. You can work physically to produce subtle changes, and the opposite is also true. The transfer of energy goes both ways.

#7

When you seek to heal yourself or another, the steering wheel for creating positive outcomes is intention. It is intention that will link you with a person to provide healing, and it is intention that will determine the mix of subtle and physical energetic effects in your work.

#8

Find a partner who is willing to help you feel and sense the flow of subtle energy through your hands. Stand up and face each other, sending energy to each other through your right hands, and receiving energy from each other with your left hands.

#9

The solo exercise is a simple yet powerful way to feel the subtle energy within and around your body. It is also a method for bringing the healing, balancing, and energizing qualities of color into your body.

#10

The interconnectivity between your heart and your auric field, which is the part of your biofield that extends out from around your whole physical body, can be experienced through the simple solo exercise of touching your fingertips together and then gazing at the electrical charge that connects them.

#11

Each of us is made up of both measurable and subtle energy fields that create and sustain life. The primary differences between physical and subtle fields are simply the speed of the information and vibration involved.

#12

There are two types of fields: veritable, which can be measured, and putative, which cannot be measured. The human body produces both types of fields. The heart is the electrical center of the human body, and its electrical activity shapes the formation of the biofields that surround the body.

#13

The chief field that generates and perpetuates life is the electromagnetic spectrum, which is usually perceived as light. Each part of the electromagnetic spectrum manifests as radiation that vibrates at a specific rate and is called electromagnetic radiation.

#14

The electromagnetic spectrum and sound fields include light waves and mechanical waves. Light waves are described as a stream of photons, wave particles that are the basis of light. These are massless particles that travel at the speed of light.

#15

Atoms are the building blocks of matter. They are composed of protons, neutrons, and electrons, which create the weight within an atom. Each of these atomic units moves at its own speed, and when combined with other units, they create a certain oscillation or vibration.

#16

The earth is surrounded by a great magnetic field, which is generated by the molten metals in the earth’s core. We are electromagnetic beings, and as such, are energetically linked within and by this field. Hundreds of clinical studies have shown a link between the magnetosphere and health outcomes.

#17

The main earth fields are radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation, x-rays, and gamma rays. The earth’s bioenergetically active fields are Schumann waves, a basic waveform created by the ionosphere surrounding the earth.

#18

The earth’s subtle fields are made up of ley lines, electromagnetic energy lines on or in the earth, the Hartmann grid, a network of naturally occurring charged lines in the earth that run north to south at a distance about two meters apart, and the Benker Cubical System, which is based on the idea that the earth is covered with a mystic force field.

#19

The Vivaxis is a point or a sphere of energy that links a person with their birthplace, and it continues to link them to that place even when they move away. It is formed from magnetic waves and operates like an invisible two-way umbilical cord connecting us to the earth.

#20

There are both measurable and subtle fields surrounding the human body. They interpenetrate it, and they determine the nature and health of our entire being.

#21

The universal light field, also called a zero-point field, is made up of photons or units of light that regulate every living thing. We are surrounded by a field of light, which forms a microcosm and macrocosm that dance together.

#22

There are actually separate etheric fields around every vibrating unit of life, from a cell to a person. The etheric field surrounds the whole body and serves as a blueprint for the physical human body.

#23

Geopathic stress refers to the harmful effects of natural and artificial fields and radiation from veritable and subtle fields. It can cause mild to severe maladies in humans who are exposed to it for long periods of time.

#24

The human energy field is made up of the aura, a set of energy bands that graduate in color and frequency as they move outward from the body. The auric field extends outward from the physical body indefinitely. It is composed of both electromagnetic radiation and an antimatter that allows a shift of energy between this world and others.

#25

The meridians are the foundation of all meridian-based therapies. They are the channels through which chi, the subtle energy required for life, flows. Understanding the meridians and the principles behind them will help you improve the depth and effectiveness of your treatments.

#26

Meridian therapy is a Chinese medical practice that focuses on the root cause of a presenting problem rather than just its symptoms. It believes that everything reduces to five basic elements, and that illness is an energetic disturbance or imbalance.

#27

The five-phase theory and the channels are two of the most important aspects of the Subtle Body healing system. The rest of this chapter is a quick-reference guide to the basic information contained in The Subtle Body encyclopedia.

#28

The Lung, Large Intestine, and Stomach meridians control the flow of energy throughout the body. The Stomach meridian works closely with the Spleen meridian to energetically support the body’s digestion and absorption functions.

#29

The Heart, Small Intestine, and Bladder meridians govern the blood, pulse, mind, and spirit. They separate the pure from the impure, including pure and impure foods, fluids, thoughts, and beliefs.

#30

The Pericardium meridian governs the blood and the mind, and it is affected by disharmony within heart and blood functions. The most common problems are chest, heart, and breast problems, and symptoms can include chest discomfort, tachycardia or other arrhythmias, swelling in the armpit, a red face, spasms of the elbow and arm, and mania.

#31

The liver meridian, Conception vessel, and Governor vessel distribute chi to the major organs and maintain the proper balance of chi and blood within the body. They start at the perineum and travel to the coccyx before landing at the back of the head.

#32

The acupoints are the entryways to the meridians. They are also called acupuncture points and meridian points. Each point has a particular effect on the different channels and organs in the body.

#33

Meridians are pathways for many different types of physical and subtle energies. They are circuits of positive and negative energies as well as bodily fluids. The energies within the circuits can be measured by various methods.

#34

There are five different theories regarding how the meridians and acupoints work to promote healing. The biomechanical theory says that the meridians are part of the body’s mechanical framework and interact with the anatomical system. The bioelectromagnetic theory states that the human body is an electrical-magnetic phenomenon, and that the body is composed of electrical currents.

#35

The meridian system is part of a secondary electrical system that functions between our connective tissue and the cardiovascular system. Electricity is created by the flow of blood within the arteries and veins, and it stimulates repair.

#36

The sixth point of the Pericardium meridian, PC 6 or Nei Guan, is a perfect point to press to create calm when you feel disruptive emotions. It alleviates stomach aches, nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, palpitations, chest constrictions, insomnia, irritability, hypertension, and mental disorders.

#37

The five-phase theory is the basis of traditional Chinese medicine. It states that there are five elements in nature: earth, metal, water, wood, and fire. The human body is made of these natural, elementa
