Foundation of Man and Woman Balance
www.manandwomanbalance.com
In the first book of the Bible we are told how man (man and woman) fell from g r ace with “God.” In Genesis 3, there i s the story of the tree of go o d and evil and how Adam and Eve we r e instructed n o t to eat of the fruit of t hat tree. But they diso b e yed “God” and so were banished from the Garden of Eden to live a life o f toil and sorr o w. And so we have the fir s t or original sin, a sin that continues to plague all of mankind. This sin i s actually a disobed i ence— one ref u sing, f o r whate v er r ea s on, to obey the rules of life, t he o rder of all things. “G o d,” philosophically speaking, is an o rder. T h ere is a “what is” to things. We just don't get to i nvent our own “rules” or “reality.” Our task is t o define a nd align to metaphysi c al r e ality. When we don't, we lose our bal a nce. We find ou r selves in sin. Sin is imbalance. In imbalan c e we lose ou r spiritual authenti c i t y. Sin (imbalance) pre v e nts us from bein g i n life . We cannot be authentic to who we are for, you see, we a r e un d er the burden of sin. We hear all the t i me people say, “I just want to be myself; I just want to be who I am.” But it is a no go for the sin/imbalance is cast upon on e 's soul. Until that sin is rooted out one can't really be o n e s elf as it we r e —f r ee fr o m si n . The idea behind Christianity is that there is a way to cleanse o nese l f from th i s sin, and that is thr ou gh a belief in Je su s as Chris t . We are to b elieve that “God” (John 3: 16) sent his Holy Son to save us from our sins, and t h at we w i ll have everlasting life. I wo n der, is that what one fundame nt ally is—a belie v er? Is o ne's essential soul/nature th a t of a belie v er o r is the r e a deeper un d erpi n ning t o things th a t explains ou r true essential natu re . Maybe we should ask, what w as our nat u re befo r e t h e fall from g race? Or let u s ask it this way, what would be our nature if we w ere without o r iginal s in? Being in life is a bout being as who we are as a true soul essence. T here is not h ing that says we must be forever un d e r the bur d en of some original sin. But we don't really understand w h at the sin was, or is, so we continue to play it out regard l e ss of the Christian pr o mise of salvation. Jesus ca n not save us. There is a diffe r ent is su e in play here. This is to say, our salvati o n is r ooted in s o mething el s e altogether.
I menti o ned that imbalance is another word f o r sin. To say that we are sinners is to say that w e are imbala n ced in (e t e r nal) life. F o r example, l et us say t h at we always put ourselves first. This is called selfis h ness. Selfishness is a s in or imbalance. Why? Because there is al s o another t o consider. T ake inhal a tion a nd e x halat i on. Can inhalation always put itself f irst o r does it equall y have to consider e xhala t ion? Th e re would also be an imbalance, or sin, occurring if we always put the other first. We ha v e our own existent needs as well. The balan c e occurs when both self and other a re held together, neither of them a l one bei n g fir
