The Divine Boon
Long time ago, there was a kingdom named Vaishali in Bihar. It was a very prosperous state ruled by mighty King Siddhartha in around 560 B.C. He and his wife Queen Trishala were ardent followers of 23 rd Tirthankar Bhagwan Parshvanath.
King Siddhartha had a huge royal palace in Kundgram. It was a beautiful place. One day, King Siddhartha and Queen Trishala went to Nandan Kanan to enjoy water games. After spending sometime in the river, the couple bowed against the Sun.
As Queen Trishala opened her eyes, she was taken aback by a bright ball of light shining in front of her.
“What’s this?” Trishala was surprised.
“What happened, dear?” asked the king as he opened his eyes.

The king saw the ball of light in front of him. After staring at the light for sometime, they saw God Rishabhdeva inside the Sun frame. Lord Rishabhdeva was the first of the 24 Tirthankaras and known widely as Adinatha.
“O Lord, we’re blessed to see you in person,” said the king with folded hands.
“I grant you happiness, Siddhartha. You have been a kind and just king throughout. But the world still needs a lot of improvement,” said Lord Rishabhdeva.
“Please tell me, O Lord, what I can do to please you?” asked the king.
“Your contribution has been wonderful. I’m happy with you. It’s my turn to serve the people,” said the Lord.
“I’m sorry, my Lord, I didn’t understand what you have just said.”
“For the welfare of the world, I will soon take birth as your son,” declared the Lord.
“O Lord, you’ve blessed us in true sense today,” said Queen Trishala.
Soon, the ball of light spun over the head of the queen and seeped into her body. The king and queen folded their hands and bowed their heads in gratitude towards their Lord. After spending sometime in praying, the couple left the place.

Queen Trishala’s Fourteen Dreams
The couple reached the palace. They were happy to get the boon from Lord Rishabhdeva. That night, Queen Trishala had a strange experience. She had fourteen dreams through the night. The first dream, queen saw was that of an elephant. She saw a big, tall, and impetuous elephant. It had two pairs of tusks. The color of the elephant was white and its whiteness was superior to the color of marble. Then, in the second dream, Queen Trishala saw was a white bull. It glowed with beauty and radiated a light all around. It also had a noble, grand, and majestic hump.
