Workers o f the world, Unite! With these words so ends the Communist Manifesto, formally called Manife s t o f th e Co m munist Party, written b y Karl Marx and Frederick Engels, 1848. I n my addition of the writing, it closes with the phrase Worki n g Men o f All C ountries, Unite! , so I guess there are d i ffe r e n t wordings of that popular phrase. It is also i n te r e sting to read the last para g raph of the book. It reads:
The Communists disdain to concea l thei r views and aims. They openly declar e tha t thei r end s can be attaine d only by t he forcibl e ove r thro w o f all existin g social conditions. Let the ru l in g c l asse s trembl e at a Co m munistic re v olution. Th e pr o let a r ia n s hav e nothin g to l os e but thei r chains. They h a v e a world to win.
What we n o w know is that what t h e workers won was a communist concentration camp. Workers o f th e world, Un i te! is the fancy slogan. Totalitari a n i sm i s the r e sult. It n e ver was about the produce r o f the v alue keeping what he or she earned, was it? You would think we would be beyond t h i s. No such luck. Even here in the United Sta t es of Ameri c a we move in the s e ci r cles—haves vs. have - n o ts. Always some form of class envy promoted by the politici a ns. T he politicians n eed us to be in need so they c an make t h eir fancy (empty) promises s o we will keep payi n g t hem. The n e w communism today s till swirls around “who gets what” ( as always) but it is packaged in new wrappings. Not that religion, ra c e , and nati o nality have played their hand. They a r e s t ill alive and w e ll. But now we have health care, environmenta l i sm, and fem i nism/homos e xuality. Just got to make e v erythi n g “equal” by force, don't we? Here are some quotes by some “gay” advocat e s. Can you feel this same sense o f 'f o rcible over t hrow'?
Paula Ette l b rick, Exe c utive Di r e c t or, Intern at ional Gay a nd Lesbian Human Rights Commission:
Being queer means pushing the p arameters of sex, s exuality, and family, and in the process, transforming the very f a b ric of society....We must keep our eyes on the goal...of radically r eordering s o ciety's v ie w s of rea l i ty .
Michael Swift, “Warning to the Homophobes,” Gay Community News:
We have c a ptured the l iberal e s t ablishment and the press. We h a ve already beaten you on a number of battlefields. And we have the spirit o f the age o n our side. You have neither the faith nor t h e st r e n g th to fight us, so you might as well surrender now....We are going to force you to recant ever yt hing you have belie v ed or have said about sexuality....Finally we will in a ll likelihood want to e xpunge a number of pas s a g es from your scriptures a nd re w ri t e others, eli m i na t i ng p referential treatm e nt o f marria g e a nd using words that will allow for homosexual inter p retati o ns of p assages.
