Description

In Spiritual Healing ...of Our Eternal Souls for all Time! the author tackles the question of universal karma/original sin and how we may free ourselves from that, not just in the eternal sense but in the present moment. As American writer Henry David Thoreau stated, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them." It is the present moment the author wants to address and in so doing, he contends, the eternal takes care of itself. The author presents this writing as a foundational shift (a recalibration of our very souls!) that transcends our current religions and philosophies both East and West.

…whom I met in the fall of 2005. After talking for a time, Craig asked to see one of my writings— The Art and Practice of Creativity , 1998. Some weeks later I saw Craig again. He had the book with him. He pointed to a passage in the book and said, “I have studied this passage for many hours, seeing how I could write it differently. I cannot; it is perfect.” For me, to hear that, at that time, let’s just say I needed it. Some months later Craig moved in my home where I lived with my Mother. Craig took the apartment on the bottom floor. My Mom called him her 5 th son. Craig was most helpful in my lifting the writings to another level, getting them into e-book form, finding me a web designer, and overall handling my computer needs. He also was a great intellectual sparring partner, reviewing my fundamental principles from the perspective of his scientific mind. He will be missed.
Preface

The purpose of this writing it to bring healing to one’s soul. How might we do this, especially when the idea of a soul is so contested to begin with. Webster’s New World Dictionary defines soul as: an entity which is regarded as being the immortal or spiritual part of the person and, through having no physical or material reality, is credited with the functions of thinking and will, and hence determining all behavior … In this day and age of scientific materialism (and psychological reductionism), or at least that science is the arbiter of all things, it is difficult to take that definition of soul seriously. Science, by its nature, is limited to physical or material reality. And yet, as the American philosopher and writer Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862) so aptly pointed out— With all your science, can you tell me how it is that light comes into the soul? Well now, isn’t that the question?

So, we have a journey to take. This journey will require that we each go deep within ourselves. We might even have to go to a place we have never been before. I hope that is okay. What we call personal or spiritual growth usually does not take place unless we go to that deeper placement. It is a journey for me, too. At this time I do not know the direction or depth this writing will take. But I do know that if we can get there a spiritual healing will take place in our hearts and souls. Each one of us will have a greater vitality within ourselves. We will feel a deep joy. We will feel that life works, more specifically, we will be at one with this light that comes into the soul. In short, we will know that our eternal soul is healed for all time. I hope and trust that that will meet your needs, and I thank you for taking the time to read this writing.

Part 1
The Light of the Soul
So if we are using the terms God-head or Source-light, we must be sure we understand that those terms are inclusive to the whole unity/division relationship-in-process—in fact a polarity —and not just in terms of unity (or oneness) alone.

The sexual process and the creation or creative process are one and the same.
What is the Light?

One of the great verses in the Bible is 1 John 1:5 which states:

God is light; in him there is no darkness.

This is a most wonderful verse; just a few words and yet so much room for thought. First off we hear that God is light. Now God may be other things but first and foremost God is light . So light is what we call God. From here on out our quest becomes to somehow define/experience light. We don’t even need to use the word “God” anymore, and that might not be a bad thing considering how that word is so politicized, people claiming their definition/religion is the one and only that all others must follow. Now there is another part of this verse that is of interest and that is: in him there is no darkness. Imagine, if we could get to this point in our own hearts and souls would not we be free of sin (discord) and the disease(s) that arise from sin. We will get to the 2 nd part of this verse later. Much is to be said about it. For now, though, we must begin with the 1 st part of the verse and entertain the idea of light . Let’s begin with the quote from American philosopher and writer Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862) that I used in the Preface.

With all your science, can you tell me how it is that light comes into the soul?

This quote, like 1 John 1:5, is another mouth full. There is the implication that it is light that brings life to the soul. We might just say that the soul itself is light, i.e., an individual expression of it. We hardly know anything about how the soul comes into the body. Is it at conception? Is it at birth? Is there even a soul to begin with? Remember the definition of soul from the Preface:

An entity which is regarded as being the immortal or spiritual part of the person and, through having no physical or material reality, is credited with the functions of thinking and will, and hence determining all behavior…

And what can science say about things existing apparently without a physical or material reality? So this is not any easy subject. For myself, I am not so much interested in the soul per se but with the light that comes into the soul. So I am suggesting it is the light that is the essence of the soul. Just as God is light so, too, is the soul light. Given that, our investigation at this point is more into the nature of light. Let me begin with a thought about light from the scientist and philosopher Walter Russell (1871-1963). (For your information I consider Walter Russell and his wife Lao Russell [ 1904-1988] to be my own spiritual mentors. I spent many years involved in their study and met Lao Russell twice back in the 1970s.) This quote is from his writing The Universal One , 1926, under the section God is Light. He states:

Light as man knows light, is but an unstable simulation of the real light of the Universal One. Man’s concept of light is luminosity, an illusion of the universal light of inertia, sustained in its appearance as an illusion of light by the pressures generated through motion. The inner mind of ecstatic man knows the real light and that he is One with light. He is not deceived by its illusion.

Dr. Russell is making a distinction between what we might call physical light and spiritual/divine light. He refers to the inner mind of ecstatic man. The man is ecstatic because he knows the real light and that he is One with light. And might we add that in this light there is no darkness.

Now, let’s proceed with some dictionary definitions of light and see if we can distinguish between physical and spiritual definitions of light.

W ebster ’ s New W orld Dictionary : 1.a) the form of electromagnetic radiation that acts upon the retina of the eye, optic nerve, etc., making sight possible: this energy is transmitted at a velocity of about 186,000 miles per second. 10. mental illumination; knowledge or information; enlightenment. 11. spiritual inspiration.

American Dictionary Of The English Language ( W ebster ’ s 1828 Edition): 1. That ethereal agent or matter which makes objects perceptible to the sense of seeing, but the particles of which are separately invisible. 4. Life. O, springing to light, auspicious babe, be born! Pope. 7. Illuminations of mind; instruction; knowledge. Light, understanding and wisdom was found in him. Dan. v .15. In Scripture, God, the source of knowledge. God is light. 1 John i.16. Christ. That was the true light, that lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John i.

Dictionary of Philosophy and Religion—William L. Reese, 1980: The analysis of light through much of the history of philosophy has been at the same time physical and divine illumination. The Neoplatonic doctrine treated light in dual terms. It was an emanation of the divine, containing both physical and spiritual a
