Description

"Greg has been led of the Holy Spirit to capture what the Lord is doing in this new apostolic age" says Che Ahn. It is a how-to guide of building healthy ministries that advance the Kingdom of God. Apostolic Governance takes us beyond pastoring local congregations to creating communities of expanding influence with social and economic impact. It's a blueprint for building powerful and healthy apostolic ministries that enlarge our perception regarding what is possible. God has called us to bring heaven to earth. With an apostolic mindset, our Kingdom communities can shape cultures, transform cities, and disciple nations.

Being a local church with a global vision is more necessary now than ever. We are living in a day when boundaries are collapsing because technology has changed the way we relate to each other across national and international lines. While on the one hand that may pose serious challenges, on the other hand, in a high-tech, post-modern age opportunities for the Gospel making a significant impact are greater than ever. If we want to think “ apostolically, ” we want to think in terms of a local church as a center for reproduction, a place of generative ministry and generative leadership. Greg Wallace, a longtime friend and comrade, has courageously tackled the notion of how to administrate such a possibility. His years of working administratively in many settings has enlarged his perspective on what is possible when all the pieces come together and convergence takes place in a team, in a people, and in a region. His brand-new book, Apostolic Governance , is worth the read. There is much here to glean from, work with, and build towards.

A few years ago, the Lord called us to launch a National Civic Movement. The Scripture He gave me was Isaiah 42:16 – I understood that He was calling me to build in an entirely new and unprecedented way, at a national scale and on a Civic Platform. I needed help … This is when I met Greg and Linda Wallace. Greg and Linda responded to our invitation to come and help build a Civic Movement, which was powered by the Ekklesia. Greg was able to take the Vision the Lord had given me and develop a framework from it, which gave us the building blocks to launch a Civic platform, which is continuing to grow in scale and impact. So, I know firsthand that the words written in the book you hold come from someone who embodies the principles and insights he so wisely shares with us. Building Apostolic Centers that will impact culture and transform nations will require a deeper understanding of the gift of Apostolic Administration and its proper application in a new wineskin context. Greg does this skillfully, while holding to light the Kingdom values that must be closely held as we build. I truly believe this book will be a game-changer for the Body of Christ and a much-needed resource for Apostles as we advance our Father ’ s Kingdom in the nations of the earth.

Over the years, Greg Wallace has helped me shape and put language to what I believe the Kingdom of God looks like in the 21 st century. In this book, Greg clarifies “ the apostolic, ” a subject which has been controversial and greatly misunderstood, and provides essential tools to build effective apostolic centers. When we truly understand the biblical revelation and importance of the apostolic, we will recognize its necessity in forging the way for the emerging church today. Greg ’ s insight has outlined an understanding of and practical process to upgrade our mindsets and organizational structures. This book will take us beyond pastoring our local congregations to creating communities of expanding influence with social and economic impact. Greg ’ s developing blueprint to build powerful and healthy apostolic centers will enlarge our perception regarding what is possible. God has called us to bring heaven to earth. With an apostolic mindset, our kingdom communities can shape cultures, transform cities, and disciple nations.

I love this book because it shows us the importance of the role of an Administrator in an Apostolic Center. With all the vision of planting new Apostolic Churches, new Apostolic Centers and Apostolic Schools, from my experience I know how crucial an Apostolic Administrator is in making sure that the vision of the Apostle and the Apostolic Center is fulfilled. This book will help Apostolic Administrators to build World-Class Apostolic Centers that will plant new Apostolic Churches and new Apostolic Centers for the Glory of God!

The fundamentals outlined by Greg Wallace in this important book will prove to be a great tool for any Apostolic Administrator called to serve a region. As I have been called to serve one of the few Apostolic Centers in the New England area, I find the biggest difference is the mindset between a traditional Executive Pastor serving a local church, as compared to one called to serve an Apostolic Center. While the focus of the former may be on mainly management and execution, the latter requires not only the recognition of specific gifts in the body to release individuals into their destiny, but also the ability to shepherd those gifts and strategically plan for success. At our local center, I like to say it ’ s “ putting people in the best position to succeed. ” This important read will assist in all aspects of operations and administration within your organization.

Many great leaders have great visions but perish in the execution of them. Greg ’ s book is very helpful in building an apostolic center, which has been compared to a spiritual aircraft carrier. It is where fighters can land, re-fill, re-load, take off, and bomb the hell out of the hell. I encourage you to read Apostolic Governance to learn how to build a world-class aircraft carrier.

I was challenged, motivated, and encouraged by reading “ Apostolic Governance. ” This book will challenge your understanding of how to evaluate and build Apostolic Centers. It will motivate you to reevaluate your own organization with new insights and understanding. Finally, it will encourage you to take the practical steps needed to reach your organization's full potential in Christ. I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to build or operate within an Apostolic Center.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
“ My heart is to serve you and best serve and equip leaders to advance the Kingdom.” With those words to me, Pastor Ch é Ahn launched my authorship of this book, and I will be forever grateful.
We had already co-authored a booklet, The City Set On A Hill: Building World-Class Apostolic Centers , and I had approached him about collaborating on a full-fledged book. You wouldn ’ t have to write much, I assured him. Even if you don’t write a word, I said, you should receive co-author’s credit because so much of what would be contained in the book flows out of my growth as an apostle and an administrator under your tutelage; so many of the ideas are grounded in the example you set as a leader (see for instance, Chapter Fifteen on establishing a culture of love and honor).
In response, he deferred to my judgment, telling me, “ My heart is to serve you and best serve and equip leaders to advance the Kingdom.” But Pastor Ch é has such a papa ’ s heart. After reading a draft of the manuscript, he gently suggested (he never insists) that I should accept the credit for what I had written. Besides, he said, he was moved to write about the ministry side of building a world-class apostolic center, and he did not want to delay the publication of my work on the administrative side (yet another way he has kept his commitment to serve).
So, I cannot help but acknowledge Pastor Ch é for his support, his humility, and his heart to serve; but more importantly, I acknowledge him as the creator of this book, if not the author. He brought me on to his HRock Church team as the Administrative Pastor. During my nearly five years
