Description

Interpretation of Bible end time events with speculation on dating the beginning of the Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ, as well as how God will deal with different people groups during this period is provided in a new and different perspective.

When is Christ returning? Is it soon as many prophecy experts predict? Can you even really know? Since the Bible provided an accurate timeline for Christ’s first arrival, it seems possible that scripture would also identify when His second coming will occur. A study of the dates and times provided in scripture provides a different and unique look at when and how God may unfold the events of Daniel’s 70th week and the return of Christ.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I would first like to thank my wife Sara for all her support throughout the writing of this book. How many times she heard my frustration in trying to make sense and order of the end time’s timeline. How many times she heard me say I was giving up or that I was done writing. Thank you for your patience and endurance.
Thank you also to my neighbor and good friend Dr. Charley Carlson and my sister-in-law Dr. Laura McCammon for their input and many hours of work, helping to edit this manuscript.
A big thanks to the great Bible scholars whose thoughts, writings, and videos have made it possible for me to arrive at most of the conclusions in this book. Many thanks to Hal Lindsey who started me on this journey so many years ago. A great big SHOUT OUT to Nelson Walters for his many insightful and new ways of interpreting Bible prophecy. A giant nod of appreciation goes out to Joel Richardson for helping shape my thoughts on the Antichrist and Christ’s second coming, as well as the Christian walk in general. Likewise, I’d like to thank David Rosenthal especially for his insights on Mystery Babylon; Alan Kurschner for helping solidify my beliefs and understanding of a prewrath rapture timing; Travis Snow for his enlightening thoughts on the end time’s second exodus; and Ed Knorr, PhD whose online material provided so much back ground material on Bible prophecy throughout the book. Without these scholars, none of this would have been possible.
A special thanks goes out to Tim Warner whose book The Time of the End made me think that maybe it is possible to know when that end time is.
Finally, I’d like to thank the only source of truth, Jesus Christ. I hope that this book is a source of truth as well as a basis of anticipation and hope that whoever reads this will develop a hunger for His second coming, a Christmas yet to come.
PREFACE
The idea for this book began back in the 1960s when I was in junior high school growing up in a Pentecostal church. We were known as holy rollers and any friends that we invited to church certainly understood where that name came from. Many of the popular sermon topics at that time seemed to rely on the Book of Revelation with the theme that Jesus was coming back soon… at any moment. This message was accompanied with plenty of fire and damnation which was a great motivator, at least for me, to accept Christ as my savior at an early age. The church leaders all seemed so sure that Jesus’ second coming could happen at any time.
This fear of Christ’s imminent return had a different effect on my younger brother. It created what is now called FOMO, a fear of missing out. His primary love at that time was football, and the thought that the end of the world was near made him think that he might miss out on playing football, not to mention the fire and brimstone that he might have to endure in hell just for having such thoughts.
Fast forward a few years to the 1970s, and still there was no return. My brother did get his chance to play football. College came along with some travel that provided opportunities to learn that some people actually had other ideas about God and about prophecy. I suppose a little bit of enthusiasm for Christ’s return lessened during that time, but then a book called The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey took the world by storm. Once again, I knew that the rapture and the end of the world must be near.
Fast forward again to the early 2000s. Still no return. Like most of the world it’s easy to get discouraged. He said that He was coming back, but it’d been 2000 years. Could it really be any time soon? Many people had predicted times and dates in the past that had proven to be false. Yet, I knew that the Bible had predicted His first coming in scripture and that scripture had foretold when that time would be. In fact, scholars today have gone back and determined that scripture had prophesied the exact day of Jesus’ first coming hundreds of years before it had occurred. So, why wouldn’t the time of His second coming also be prophesied in the Bible?
That was when I read another book written by Tim Warner called The Time of the End . In this book he outlines a timeline from creation to the establishment of God’s kingdom on earth. This kingdom is something we pray for every time we recite the Lord’s prayer. And it is this kingdom that his book predicted is coming soon. New hope was rekindled in me at that time.
So, I decided to research whether a specific date for Christ’s return could be confirmed in scripture and a timeline for the end times established. It couldn’t be that difficult. For certainly, there must be an abundance of information from Bible scholars on this topic. Unfortunately, although there were a lot of generalities regarding Christ’s second return, there was not much in the way of specifics, which I believe is due to fear of being wrong and being labeled by the Christian society as a “date setter”. Obviously, since everyone that has tried to set a date for Christ’s return has been wrong and criticized for it, few would want to attempt predicting the timing of His second coming. Although fear can be a healthy emotion at times, I believe, that in this instance, it has stymied the Church from being prepared for that very time.
They say that in your twenties, you care about what everybody thinks of you. When you are in your forties, you don’t care about what people think of you, and when you are in your sixties, you realize that people were never really thinking of you. Not to give away my age, but I’m not too concerned about whether people criticize me and condemn the timeline for the end times presented here. What I am concerned with is that people and the Church are awake to the fact that Jesus is returning soon, and they need to be prepared.
Unlike my early experience, not much is heard in the Church today about fire and brimstone, perhaps because much emphasis is placed on the importance of being non-judgmental and tolerant of the world. The Church needs to remember that it may be “in the world” but is not “of the world”. The FOMO of what the world has to offer needs to be replaced instead with a FOMO on Christ’s second coming. It is my hope and purpose that by writing this that myself, my brother, my friends and family, the Church, and the world will not worry about missing out on football or what the world itself has to offer but will know that Christ is returning soon and will be ready and waiting.
As will be emphasized later, I am not claiming absolutely to know that this is the exact timeline for the end times, just that in my mind it is simply one theory that to my knowledge has not yet been proposed but seems to align most with Bible prophecy and is pointing to a near fulfillment. Obviously, it is difficult to be fully confident of a timeline like this, and the later chapters on Wars and Judgment are even more difficult to understand and predict. Despite these difficulties, I hope that you enjoy the
