Description

In one day life as I had known it for years had changed. A precious life-my sweet brother, had been taken from me and life suddenly seemed a very hostile, fearful world. I felt unequipped and estranged from God. I didn't know God and didn't understand how He could allow this to happen.

At my brother's grave side service I challenged God to show me who He was. I challenged the Shepherd of Psalm 23 to prove to me He was indeed a loving God who cared for His children.

This book is about how the Lord taught me who He is. He has gathered me and my children to His breast, fed us and led us through many perilous places. At times I felt very alone and afraid. At times I felt lost. But in the valleys and through the struggles the Lord has become real to me and proven Himself to be everything and all that I need.

He is all we need

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."
Isaiah 40:11

This book is dedicated first and foremost to Jesus Christ To my brother Steve (1957-1978) whose death brought me to the Cross; To my beloved children Melissa, Rachel and Jonathon who have learned of Him with me and whose lives have been such beautiful gifts— Your heritage is JESUS CHRIST!
One Sunday morning in 1999 Jesus used my pastor’s wife, Joy Haney to speak life changing words of Hope to the congregation. She said God had spoken to her that someone in the congregation felt so broken that it was as if they were a piece of shattered glass—that they felt no one could fix them, but Jesus wanted them to know He could, andHE WOULD DO IT. That day was the first day I felt true hope that I would so be whole. In 2002 God impressed me to write a book, and call it He Provides. This was confirmed by two other people—Sis. Lynn Tavella from Christian Life Center and another sister whose name I didn’t even know and who moved to Alaska, but I thank her. Sister Tavella said it was in through transparency healing would come. She said God impressed her that it was in the publishing of this book final healing would come. I have written this only in obedience to him and with hope it will lead others to healing and hope also.
Special Thanks and honor to every Saint, Preacher and faithful friends and Loved ones who have touched my life and through your excellence in consecration to Christ are delivering His message ofHopeandNew Life to the World.
May the Lord Bless You

A Song in the Night Rachel’s song
When I worship the Lord I get a little beside myself. There have been times I have stepped outside of my comfort zone to worship Him at the risk of feeling embarrassed. At times, the thought has crossed my mind that some may think me insincere or even question and criticize my worship, but I have read in the Word of God in Psalms Chapter 149 verses 3-5 how to praise God and there it tells me to praise Him in the dance, praise Him with the voice, and praise Him with the musical instruments. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 the Bible says,“in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”The apostle Paul and Silas responded in this way after being beaten, locked in chains and thrown in Prison. God worked a great miracle through their sacrifice of praise (Acts 16:22-26). God has done so much for me---too much for me to hold my peace! There have been times life weighed so heavily upon me that I couldn’t bring myself to want to get out of bed, but he gave me the supernatural strength I needed in that moment. The Word pro-mises,“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified”(Isaiah 61:3). Jesus has put food on my table when I had no means of providing it for myself, he provided a source. He has clothed my family when we couldn’t afford to clothe our-selves (Matthew 6:25-33). The Lord has given me a song in the night, a joy in the midst of deep sorrow, and a peace that truly passes all understanding. In times of loneliness, He was my friend that comforted me (Proverbs 18:24). When my earthly father was nowhere to be found, he became my heavenly father (Psalm 68:5). He is my counselor, the love of my life--my everything (Deuteronomy 6:5). I have learned to praise Him in the bad times. I praise Him in the times of famine. I have learned to praise Him in the times of abundance and great Joy. Through every trial He has been with me. The word of God says,“ The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging for bread”37: (Psalms 23-25). Life has dealt me some difficult hands, but God has been with me through them all in a supernatural way I could not deny. The Lord sent a command to Joshua that we can apply to our lives today.“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”(Joshua 1:9). I encourage you who have felt drawn to read this book to take your sickness, your pain, your devastation, your broken dreams and offer up a sacrifice of praise
unto God-- in a Spirit of brokenness and thanksgiving. The bible says,“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise”(Psalms 51:17). Thank Him in the very thing that has devastated you. You say, “How can I thank God when my body is racked with pain or I just lost my job? When my spouse has been unfaithful, I just received a terminal doctor’s report, my kids aren’t serving God, when I have sin that I can’t overcome, I have unanswered prayers or a broken heart?” You are reading this book which tells me that you love the Lord and have faith--even if it’s the size of a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20). He is able to work in your life! The Word of God promises,” Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 That by two immutable things in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. 19 which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…”(Hebrews 6: 17-19). God is truth and therefore He cannot lie. Because He is truth you can be sure of His promises. In the bible I read about a man by the name of Job. If you read the book of Job you see that God “allowed” Job to suffer (Job 1:12, 2:6). That’s what we must understand. He has “allowed” this thing in your life that has rendered you helpless and completely dependent upon Him. It grieves the Lord when we are hurting (Jeremiah 42:10)“I am grieved over the disaster that I have inflicted upon your life.”Isaiah 53:4 says,“surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrows.” But this thing must come to pass in your life so he will be able to fulfill his greater purpose. Life here on earth is not meant to be paradise. If it was we would never find our “Garden of Gethsemane”. How can you ever minister to the needs of those around you without bearing some difficult circumstances? The bible says,“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God”(II Corinthians 1: 4). Jesus robed himself in flesh, was tempted in all ways as we are and then bore the agonizing pain of Calvary. He did this to redeem us of our sin. Through this path He would also be able to sympathize and empathize with us fully.“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”(Heb4:15& 16). You may think to yourself, “But, I have been through enough. God must be done now.” The bible says,“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death”Philippians 3:10.
