Foreword

Whether life is going well for you or collapsing around you and before your eyes, we all want freedom and success. With the continued spiraling down of our economy, the staggering rate of unemployment and terrorism seeming to be around every corner, sometimes it is difficult to be objective in life. Everyone wants a better life. Too many people settle for mediocrity in their thoughts, attitudes or actions, which has a tremendous influence on everything that comes to us.

We search for answers and sometimes a ‘quick fix’ for the problem at hand, but far too often do not recognize what is really going on in our lives.

In this book, Dr. Thomas has left no stone unturned to try to give an answer and hope to those who have been beaten up by life and find themselves in deep depression and discouragement over ‘Life's Interruptions.’ Too often, as believers, we want to blame everything on the devil, the powers of darkness, when more often than not; The Lord Himself is bringing interruption. The late great Evangelist D. L. Moody once said, God will bring Divine Interruptions to bring us about (turn us) into His plan and purpose.

Dr. Thomas has incredible insight into the human experience of interruptions. He is a prolific author, teacher, life coach and motivator of multitudes. He is pastor of an exciting growing church with a heart to see God's children mature and be equipped for service in the Kingdom of God. His heart of compassion causes his church to reach beyond the walls into the community. He is recognized in his city of Las Vegas as a master instructor. Politicians and corporate leaders alike have shown the greatest respect for this seasoned and committed Man of God.

You will need to read this book more than once to get to the meat of what the Lord is saying through this incredible servant. He is truly an Apostle of Faith raised up for this hour to bring the end time church into her rightful position and destiny. It has been my privilege to know this man and watch his life as he has increased in knowledge, power, influence and favor in and outside his sphere of ministry.

I salute you Apostle. God has truly inspired your creativity. I know that without a doubt, you are one of the ‘hidden generals’ who has been reserved for this day and hour. May you bless the multitudes as you have blessed me. It is my honor to call you friend.

1: “I thought I Was Supposed To”

1 Cor 9:24-27
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26 Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. 27 No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. NIV

Acts 9:3-6
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. KJV

Ex 3:7-10
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. KJV

How many times have you started something only to stop in the middle? Not only did you stop doing what you had planned, but you never went back to finish what you started. How often have we believed something was necessary or believed that doing a certain thing was important only to be interrupted in the process?

The strange thing is, once the interruption comes, either it distracts us to the point where what we were doing becomes irrelevant or we gain a new focus on the project and don’t allow anything to hinder its progress.

Life is filled with choices and some would dare to say life is simply a matter of making the right choices. Every day we have to choose to get out of bed and deal with the challenges, stresses, fears, disappointments, joys, sadness, and conflicts as well as the achievements and successes in this life. How you approach them is a matter of what you believe about yourself. The Bible states in two different passages:

Prov 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. KJV

Prov 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death . KJV

Notice here, twice the Bible mentions that we all have an idea of what our life should be like or what we feel is best for ourselves. Everyone has desires, dreams, ambitions, plans and goals or just wants and because of that, we have set our lives on a course to obtain them in the quickest way.

We try to make choices to obtain things with the minimal amount of effort, pain, and cost. When a person desires a thing but does not want to pay the cost for it, we call them cheap and when a person has a dream or goal and doesn’t put forth any effort, we call them lazy. When a person has aspirations or ambitions and is unwilling to go through the pain, we identify that person by saying they have no commitment to their own success.

However, what about when the things you have planned and the goals you have set for your life are suddenly interrupted? I am confident that as you read these pages you have set some future plans for your life! What if overnight all of your plans are interrupted? What if by the time you finish this book GOD gives you “A divine assignment”? Would you readily embrace it? Would you start praying against the enemy that is messing up your future plans, not realizing it’s really God? Alternatively, would you become like the countless millions of Christians and be paralyzed by the new assignment because you never saw yourself doing what God is now ordering you to do?

You have to ask yourself a few questions. Am I focused on God’s needs or my own? What will life be like once I complete this new assignment? Is this really an interruption or was this GOD’S plan for my life all the time?

Let’s deal with the word interruption for just a moment. This word has several different meanings. The most common thought that comes to mind when thinking about interruption is “to make a statement or ask a question while someone is speaking,” which refers to commu
