Introduction
Summer follows Spring .
Summer is a liturgical resource book that covers the months of May, June and July. It includes prayers, responses, stories, poems, liturgies, songs, reflections, scripts and monologues for the Christian seasons of Eastertide and Pentecost, as well as Saints’ days, Rogationtide and Ascension. There are also poems for summertime and reflections on pilgrimage, holidays and retreats.
The resources are written by members, associate members and friends of the Iona Community and others.
I’ve defined the season by the month that contains the solstice or equinox and the month either side of it.
As the date of Easter changes each year, I have chosen to include material for Lent and Easter morning in Spring , the previous volume of this series, and material for Easter evening and Eastertide in this volume, Summer .
