Description

Throughout history, three princes have exercised authority over the earth. The rule of the first, Adam, was pitifully short. His authority was stolen by Satan, the second prince, who brought unspeakable suffering to mankind. This began the supreme drama of all time, the drama of redemption. It is a drama that finds its climax in Satan's defeat and the triumph of the third prince, Jesus Christ, who became a man in order to win back what the first man had lost. To grasp the magnitude of this drama, in which each of us is playing a significant role, we must lift the veil of the visible and peer into the mysteries of the unseen world. Read these pages as you would read a drama. Plunge your mind deeply into God's revelation of His great plan; you will gain new insights into truths that may have become commonplace for you. May you begin each new day by reaffirming your authority in Christ, seated in Him at the right hand of God. And may you go into your world clothed with His armor, filled with His power, armed with the sword of His Spirit, and permeating your life with prayer.

What Others Are Saying About
The Three Princes
Every book Tom Julien has written has always touched me. I have often referred to them and benefited immensely from them. The author has vividly and convincingly portrayed the world of three beings, Adam, Satan, and Christ, overarching from one end of eternity to the other. This is an overview of real human history, which has been commonly overlooked, resulting in the great loss of spiritual realities. With this book thoughtful readers will be awakened and restored to the reality of the spirit world, which is so commonly ignored in the lives of many people in spite of the fact that the unseen world is more real than the visible world. The Three Princes will open the eyes of spiritually slumbering souls and cause them to rise above the one-dimensional world, comprehending the spiritual realities and the road map of our spiritual journey. The readers will gain the hope of glory through the victorious third prince, our Lord Jesus Christ. This book is so revealing and so encouraging.

The Bible is prolific in alerting us to be vigilant regarding our adversary, the devil; yet there is a prevalent tendency to ignore these warnings. The result is a defeated Christian life and a church that is powerless and diverted from God s mission in the world. In this book by Tom Julien the reader will find a comprehensive biblical panorama of this biblical conflict and discover that the victory over our subtle and devious enemy has been procured by the Lamb of God. The Three Princes will not only provide valuable insights and understanding, but encouragement to claim that victory and walk in it.

Tom Julien has done the church a great service in writing The Three Princes. Beginning with the conflict between the serpent and Adam in the Garden, he traces the development of that conflict through the end times depicted in The Revelation. In a very readable, balanced manner, Julien provides the needed spiritual-conflict dimension to the worldview that is essential for the understanding of both the Old and the New Testaments. It is required reading for anyone who is serious about personal spiritual growth and effective ministry to others.
D R . T IMOTHY W ARNER, former President of Fort Wayne Bible College and Professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
I vividly remember the ambiance of our New Age home. Coming home from school, I was welcomed by a huge Buddha dominating the living room, incense rising in front of it, windows decorated with Hindu motifs. My father was a Master in an esoteric movement, and I thrived in a worldview defined by energy, reincarnation, and self-hypnosis. Little did I know about the nature of that other world, which revealed its face when God s grace invaded my life. After the joyful discovery of the Gospel, I was plagued with bizarre, blasphemous thoughts and voices-how could that happen, now that I knew the God of the universe? I am thankful for Tom Julien, whose piety and heart for world vision I greatly admire. His book crafts vividly the reality of the spiritual fight that surrounds the Christian life, exalting the absolute victory of the Lord Jesus Christ. He portrays the grandiose plan of redemption, a salvation that should more accurately be described as a rescue. It s my hope that, upon reading The Three Princes, every believer would joyfully give thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. For He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:12-14, NASB).
F LORENT V ARAK, Pastor in Lyon, France, Adjunct Professor in the Geneva Bible Institute
The Three Princes by my friend and colleague Tom Julien gives us biblical insights into angels and demons that make Dan Brown pale in comparison. This is a window into spiritual realities, which every child of God needs to understand in order to live the freedom that God has procured for us at the Cross through His Son Jesus.

About This Book
T HROUGHOUT HISTORY, THREE PRINCES HAVE EXERCISED authority over the earth. The rule of the first, Adam, was pitifully short. His authority was stolen by Satan, the second prince, who brought unspeakable suffering to mankind. This began the supreme drama of all time, the drama of redemption. It is a drama that finds its climax in Satan s defeat and the triumph of the third Prince, Jesus Christ, who became a man in order to win back what the first man had lost. To grasp the magnitude of this drama, in which each of us is playing a significant role, we must lift the veil of the visible and peer into the mysteries of the unseen world.
This book has three purposes. First, it is meant to provide a biblical worldview leading to a more complete understanding of God s revelation concerning the rebellion of Satan and the triumph of our Lord in gaining back what Adam lost. The book is written for those who are trying to connect the dots in their grasp of the realities of the unseen world. Hopefully, the reader will be filled with a new sense of awe through a deeper understanding of the glory of God s eternal plan.
Second, it is meant to instill a conscious and ongoing awareness of the reality of the unseen world. It is possible to have a theology of the spirit world without a personal consciousness of its existence. Though we are not to become preoccupied with the existence of spirit beings around us, neither are we to ignore their existence. Too many people have allowed themselves to become prisoners of a one-dimensional view of reality. My prayer is that the scales will fall from their eyes. Some of them are facing continual defeat in their relationship with the Lord because they do not realize that the enemy has established strongholds in their minds and that the weapons of the world (2 Corinthians 10:4) are powerless to deliver them from spiritual bondage.
And third, this book is meant to instill in the reader an enduring attitude of worship for the Prince who is destined to reign forever. I pray that as you are drawn into the wonder of this unfolding drama of man s redemption, you will fall on your knees in praise and adoration before the Lamb who was slain and who is worthy to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise (Revelation 5:12).
This book is for all who take the Bible seriously, and especially for those who are actively ministering to others. It is my hope that these readers will use this information to provide some theological underpinnings in their ministry toward those who are in need of spiritual freedom. This is not a manual for spiritual warfare; it is meant to provide a foundational base. Many excellent tools are available to those who are helping free people from their bondage, such as Neil Anderson s Steps to Freedom in Christ. Hopefully the following pages will lead to a more adequate comprehension of the truths underlying these tools.
Though many have encouraged me to put this material into book form, I owe special gratitude to my coworker Jay Bell for his persistence. For Jay the concepts in this book are not abstract truths; he and his wife Jan effectively apply them in their widespread counseling ministry, which has brought freedom to a large number of believers who have suffered spiritual bondage. The pastoral team of my church has given invaluable input in our weekly discussions of these chapters. I am greatly indebted to Terry White and Kelsey Mitchener of BMH Books, as well as Jesse Deloe, for their excellent editorial work, and to my son Terry for the cover design.
Read these pages as you would read a drama. Plunge your mind deeply into God s revelation of His great plan; you will gain new insights into trut
