When I count blessings and guidance which saw me through this stupendous translation work, my head bows down before Bhagwan Shri Krishn and all astral beings. Some pure souls, residing in heaven, were anchors and did most of the translation work for me. An intellectually frail human being like me could not have completed this colossal task alone in less than 100 days.
I am grateful to Honorable Sh. Kanwar Pal, Minister of Education, Forest Tourism, Parliament Affairs, Art and Cultural Affairs and Hospitality Organization, Haryana, for his accolades.
I appreciate Prof. Deepti Dharmani, a friend of four decades, for her diligent and intelligent help.
Sh. Balbir Punj, Sh. Dinesh Dadhichi, Sh. Jagdish Chopra, Dr. Himmat Singh Sinha, Dr. Ravindra Shukl, Sh. Shailendra Shail and Dr. Shyam Singh ‘Shashi’ have my gratitude for their pre-publication reviews.
Since my adversaries assist me in my Bodhisattv, a way of life, I long for them like a treasure discovered in the backyard and acquired without efforts. My regards for them.
I am thankful to my friends who nourish my soul.
I am grateful to my incredible family, a source of constant support, love and care.

Perspective
“Gentle Lady! What’s your name?” An unknown person, walking a few steps behind me asked this question on a warm winter morning of December 1984. My thoughts were interrupted. For me, walking is meditation. It is the time of the day when I want to be just myself. After initial hesitation, I responded to the query. The person introduced himself as Dr. T.K. Parchure. Throughout the morning walk, lasting about an hour, we discussed J. Krishanmurti’s book Awakening of Intelligence . Both of us were staying at Krishanmurti Foundation, Rajghat Fort, Varanasi. A few days later, Dr. Parchure asked me if I could translate J. Krishanmurti’s book Urgency of Change into Hindi. I was flabbergasted. Thunderbolt had struck me. Expression of my inability and lack of acumen in the art of translation had no impact on him. Soon he became a father-figure. He taught me the intricacies of translation from one language to another. Under his stewardship, I completed the translation of the book. Its title was आमूल क्रांति की आवश्यकता (Aamul Kranti ki Aavashyakta). This book was published by Krishanmurti Foundation in 1986.
Covid-19 virus had made my body its temporary abode. One day, in October 2020, Dr. Ravindra Shukl called me to enquire about my health. Conversation continued for long. Life once again put me to test on the plank of translation as he asked me if I could translate his book the Varn Vyavstha, Maulik Avdharna aur Vikriti . We briefly discussed the book. His views were in unison with mine. A seed was sown, which could not sprout till 24.05.2021.
I was conscious that this translation work is a journey down the Hindu scriptural, historical and social fabric of Bharat, which is more than 10000 years old. A joyful play with words, patience, trust and persevarance would be absoultely necessary. I was sure to travel no matter how good or bad the paths were. I was aware that this journey was not going to be a simple journey. And it has been no less than a roller coaster ride.
I humbly request the reader to go on this journey with me. This journey should be with an open mind. Fixed ideas adversely affect a logical, analytical and rational mind. Make a leap out of the dence fog of a cluttered mind and onto upward path. The reader must embrace the winding road and keep the head and heart in sync. Soren Kierkegaard said, “To dare is to lose one’s footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself.
Let’s start the journey with the journal of my venture.
25 May 2021 - I read the whole book.
26 May 2021 - Wee hours. Captivating shimmer of full moon of Budh Purnima. I was engrossed in scheduling translation of Dr. Ravindra Shukl’s book. Suddenly, mind was thoughtless and still. No conscious record of time. I realized the shimmer of moon had given way to glimmer of sun that had penetrated my skin.
28 May 2021 - With each turning page, my head bowed down in awe before the lofty ideal of Varn System and Ashram Dharm enshrined in Hindu scriptures. The text of the book covers almost 30 centuries. The work of translation could not be free of pitfalls and to make it more slippery the Sanskrit Shloks from various scriptural texts spanning many eras are going to be a great challenge.
31 May 2021- Though translation work is proceeding well, yet somehow I feel the fragrance is missing. I introspect. I realize that my work so far has been a mechanical translation done perfectly. What to do?
02 June 2021 - For two days, I keep the book by my side and let it communicate with me. The awful truth begins to dawn on me. I need to be in love with the content of the book not only intellectually but emotionally as well. My heart and mind has a dialogue. The love for the content is now fructifying in translation.
03 June 2021- Difficulties concerning language, structures, idioms and expressions, compound words, two-word verbs, appropriate English equivalents of Hindi words need to be tackled.
04 June 2021- Lexical and semantic problems still stare at me. Several circumstances, instances and persons emerge as powerful catalysts to propel the translation work.
08 June 2021- Questions of temporality, aspectuality and problems of grammar are being befriended.
11 June 2021- Many syntactical problems originate from the point-of-view from the facts are narrated in the book.
12 June 2021- Rhetorical facts, problems like metaphors, comparisons etc. look for solutions.
15 June 2021- Doing the translation work for almost seventeen hours a day was taking its toll on body. Nonetheless mind came to rescue by keeping spirits elevated.
19 June 2021- The most challenging issues I was facing concerned cultural differences and cultural connotations. Neither it could be merely translated from one language to another language nor it could be a simple adaptation based on the author’s thoughts.
22 June 2021- I felt the intention of the writer was not to hurt anyone but to unravel the truth, buried deep underneath distorted history books, intentionally rewritten to crumple the grand edifice of Bharat by crippling the Varn System based on attributes and Karm . Translation aims to bring the truth before English knowing persons.
25 June 2021- I decided that without affecting the intent, objective and aim of the author, a few lines from a few chapters from part II could be omitted. However, this omission would not adversely impact the meaning and sense.
28 June 2021- The book testifies that the way the author has handled the project shows his resilience, experience, knowledge and critical thinking. He has not minced his words while attacking the invaders who destroyed our true Dharmik identity. The quality of his writing and the piercing attack is unprecedented.
01 July 2021- I spent two hours searching Varn System on various search engines on internet. Most of the material found on these search engines is distorted information about everything that has to do with Bhartiy Sanatan Sanskriti. Along with Portuguese, Muslim and Mughal invaders and British, these search engines are equal partners in conspiracy. Many theories which damage our ten thousand year old civilization are constantly weaved and uploaded. This literary invasion is fatal. As a result, many generations of Hindu Sanatan Sanskriti have been alienated from their Bhartiy roots. The western paradigm has mortally impacted our sacred Varn System .
It is difficult not to sink in depression caused by these wrong and distorted informations.
2 July 2021- The warm hues of sunrise have brought a gentle-strong message from nature to boost energy, psychologically and physically. I must chase the goal of translation. The belief in the immortality of Sanatan Dharm is renewed.
04 July 2021- Polysemic words and homonymy have to be handled everyday.
07 July 2021- We, as Bhartiy , were not enamoured of some other culture or its belief-systems, or living style. It was terror or an instinctive feeling of self-preservation which propelled us to leave our cultural and Dharmik way of life.
09 July 2021- One can be in love with the content of the book yet not be in full agreement with it. I think, only those forts fall which are unable to protect themselves from the onslaught.
12 July 2021- The twenty two centuries of horrendous attacks on Sanatan Dharm , Sanatan Sanskriti and our Rashtr are deep injuries imprinted on our consciousness. In my own way, I have tried to heal the lacerating wounds. Present translation work is one of such several ways.
15 July 2021- Wilful adherence to law, wilful deterrence against misconduct, responsible exercise of freedom and liberties and having the societal trait of ‘May all be happy’ will lead every person, family, society and nation to contentment and perpetual peace. This is to be attained through Varn System .
One must appreciate David Frawley for saying, “Hindu Dharm is not based upon a religious belief or political ideology, but respect for the living universe and oneself within all, accepts a universal truth behind all worlds and all beings from the physical to the transcendent, not limited to any anthropocentric views.”
20 July 2021- It is astonishing that none told us about great kings like Smrat Vikramadity, Lalitadity Muktpida, Samudr Gupt, Kanishk, Kharavela, Rajendr Chola, Mihir Bhoj, Govind III, Pulakesi II, Krishnadev Raya, Mahapadm Nand, Gautmiputr Satakarni.
