Description

The “holy grail” of physics is quantum gravity, often called the theory of everything. But any scientific theory will be incomplete without the God of the Bible. Physicists claim the cosmos began with a big bang created from nothing. But the word nothing is meaningless in physics. Furthermore, the big bang is an impenetrable barrier to whatever preceded it. In addition, a finite cosmos cannot contain within itself an explanation for its own existence. To claim we are here by accident explains nothing and leads to a logical dead end.
The cause of the universe is information in the form of mathematical laws left behind for science to discover. The fundamental properties of these laws have the same attributes as the Supreme Lawgiver of Genesis. An intelligible cosmos is unmistakable evidence the Creator is an Intelligent Mind. The Creator’s Voice is a valid scientific theory confirming the truth of Genesis; God spoke the laws creating the universe out of nothing, creatio ex nihilo. The foundation of the universe is ethereal cosmic waves which interact according to the laws to create and sustain the illusion of reality we experience. Space, time, energy and matter are made from quantum information; nothing else is needed. By a process of elimination, God is the only possible explanation for everything we know.
The human mind is evidence consciousness is endemic to the cosmos. Cosmic waves interact with the human mind in mysterious ways. The cosmos relates to humans more like a great Mind than a mindless machine. The god-like nature of the human mind is evidence; we are made imago Dei. Even if God is included in a scientific theory, it means little unless it can be shown God is a real Being, alive, present in the world and relevant to our lives.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to thank Frank Braxton (Brack), and Gordon Shugars for reviewing the manuscript. I would like to commend the professionalism of the technical support team at Author House, I would especially like to recognize Mark Francis for his words of encouragement. Finally, I would like to thank Kristine Mayo for her contagious enthusiasm for this little project.
I would like to recognize biologist and atheist Richard Dawkins who challenged someone to write this book. I would like to recognize eminent physicist and Hebrew scholar Gerald Schroeder for his ideas that put me on this path. Finally, I would like to recognize the greatest physicist who ever lived, Albert Einstein. He is an inspiration to anyone who wants to know about the amazing world beyond our little planet. He is a guidepost at every turn in this book.
PREFACE
“The universe knew we were coming.” [ 1 ] Freeman Dyson, Manhattan Project, British Royal Society, Professor Emeritus of Physics at Princeton
Science is contributing new and important insights into the nature of reality. Science and technology also reveal with increasing clarity the place of humanity in the cosmos. In the last century, modern science achieved a stature above the fray by avoiding cultural biases, religion in particular. Beliefs that do not accept the validity of science jeopardize their credibility. Science is now the gold standard for the truth about the natural world. But the methods of science will never get us to the goal line. In science, there may be no goal line, and even if there is, there is no way for science to recognize it. Physics professor Brian Greene quotes humorist Stephen Wright, “Physics is like the photographer trying to get a close-up shot of the horizon.” [ 2 ] We must look beyond the horizon of science for better answers.
Any way you look at it, we are fortunate to be here. But exactly how did we get here and why are we here? Our intellect compels us to try to find answers. Our significance in the grand scheme of things cannot be denied. Our ancestors knew instinctively a higher power than themselves manifest in the cosmos. They knew instinctively we were here at the pleasure of a force far more significant than themselves. Everything that can be seen and heard, from the myriad stars to rolling thunder, is telling the greatness of an Almighty power. Whether we like it or not, this is the only logical explanation for our existence. Science and philosophy are merging into a coherent worldview, which combines beautifully with the God Hypothesis. Physicist Max Born said, “I am now convinced theoretical physics is philosophy.” Science, philosophy, and religion probe the nature of our existence, but from different perspectives. While religious beliefs still prevail, they have been forced to give up a lot of turf to scientific progress. Is science capable of answering the deepest questions, thereby eliminating the need for God, religion, and philosophy? Can science and religion both be right? Can reasoned discourse explain apparent discrepancies between science and Scripture? The acrimony between science and religion heated up during the last century due to the strength of religious fundamentalism and the threat of evolution to their beliefs. Prominent scientists increasingly express their opinion that faith in God is just superstition.
While a student at Caltech, I heard Nobel physicist and atheist, Richard Feynman, handily dominate debates with theologians. I’ve heard preachers railing against evolution. The issues are divisive, emotionally charged, and debated vigorously. The culture clash between our religious heritage and the inexorable progress of science and technology has become a detriment to our way of life as each disparages the other. Science has undoubtedly exposed many flaws in religious beliefs. For two millennia, the incompatible worldviews of our Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian heritage have yet to be fully resolved. But many great thinkers have pressed hard on the issue and it appears significant progress towards resolution may be possible.
10/20/2020 CNN: In the midst of the disastrous public response to the lethal covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Head of the Center for Infectious Disease Control, remarked, “We are going through a time that is disturbingly anti-science by a certain segment of our society.” He and his family received multiple death threats. What concerns me, he is referring to the right-wing fundamentalist Christian agenda.
The Catholic Church has finally consented to scientific progress. A letter from the Vatican written at the time of the two-hundredth anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth declared, “The purpose of Scripture and religious truth is not to convey scientific information, but to transform hearts. To mislead children with false information is not benign. It’s irresponsible, repressive, and dangerous.” The Vatican has finally taken the lessons of the Inquisition and the excoriation of Galileo to heart. But why did it take two centuries for a pope to recant a lie? Jonathan Swift famou
