As a fashion “think tank,” it has become an international center for education,contemplation,andprofessionalexchange.TheIFMisanonprofit   organization under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry. Headed by Pierre Bergéandofferingprogramsledbyeminentacademicsandleadersfromthe   fashion,textile,luxurygoods,distribution,cosmetics,anddesignworlds,the   IFM has earned a solid reputation in its field. It is a corresponding member of the Conference ofGrandes Ecoles, the national regulatory body for the uniquely Frenchgrande école.

Main programs of study Postgraduate program in fashion and design management This 15-month graduate program is intended for holders of a four- or five-year university degree. Focusing for the last 20 years on management insectorswithahighcreativevalueadded—suchasfashion,textiles,luxury   brands, accessories, athletic apparel, fragrances and cosmetics, and home furnishings—the program has graduated 1,000 managers who now work for Chanel,Dior,Etam,GaleriesLafayette,Gap,Hermès,L’Oréal,LouisVuitton,Yves   Saint Laurent, and others.

Post-graduate programs in creation: fashion (clothing and accessories) The 15-month curriculum encourages participants to deepen and decompar- mentalize their knowledge, to give form to innovative ideas within the parameters of the fashion industry, from production to commercialization (includingcommunicationandmarketing).Thephilosophyoftheprograms   in creation is to connect talented designers with manufacturers and fashion houses that have strong and distinctive traditions. Student projects are pursued up to the point of creating prototypes, with the goal of achieving a synthesis of design and practical know-how. Each year, more than 40 companies participate in the production of clothes and accessories(eyeglasses,purses,andshoes)withinIFM.

AtregularintervalsIFMpublisheseconomicanalysesandforecaststhatexplore   and clarify the macro- and microeconomic risks and opportunities facing the textilesandfashionindustries.
