ABSTRACT The radiocarbon date for the charcoal from the Leduc-Boujot-Cassen excavation is 6750 ± 110 BP (beetween 5530 and 5700 ВС, using the Gilot- Mahieu method). If this effectively corresponds to the period of the Bois-Bertaud vases, there is no point in looking, to the North for possible ancestors for their cultural group. On the contrary, it must be inferred that it was rather the latter which spread towards the Paris Basin.
