Account of archaeological prospectings carried out in the south-east zone of the ancient district of Tautira, abandoned by the recent settlement. Several of the structures were inventorized, among which many marae. A comparison of them brings to light great diversity in one and the same valley, and from one valley to another. An hypothesis of a first installation of the Oro cult in the Vaiote area is considered. These prospectings have, moreover, confirmed the high density of the ancient population of mountain areas of the Taiarapu peninsula.
