Básník a grafik Bohuslav Reynek (1892-1971) pat?í ? po?etným ?eským tv?rc?m, kte?í voln? p?echázeli od výtvarného projevu ? projevu básnickému. V po?áte?ním období se jeho práce vyzna?ují jistou drsností blízkou expresionismu, p?i?emž jsou spjaty s krátkými d?jinami « ?eské expresionistické knihy ». Sty?né body mezi literaturou a výtvarným um?ním jsou z?ejmé v Sešitech poesie, knižnici, kterou Reynek vydával na po?átku 20.1et a jež byla doprovázena linorytovými illustracemi (p?edevším od Josefa ?apka). Analýza Hada na sn?hu (1924), jedné z Reynkových sbírek, umož?uje postihnout jak tématické shody, tak i stylové ústupky ve vztahu mezi literárním a výtvarným výrazem, které spo?ívaji v identifika?ních potížích zobrazení, jež sm?žuje ? abstrakci. Reynk?v zájem o zví?ata, jejichž volba byla jak naprosto nahodilá, tak ?ist? transcendentálni, zájem, jenž ostatn? sdílel s ?etnými p?edstaviteli expresionismu, lze vysv?tlit zvláštním místem, které zví?ata zaujímají v tomto dvojzna?ném vymezení zobarzení. Tato zobrazení jsou emblematická ve smyslu skrytého bytí v záhybech a rýhách tajemné bytosti, jak se Reynek vyjád?il v jednom z text? sbírky Had na sn?hu.
Vision of Animals in The Snake on the Snow [Had na Sn?hu] by Bohuslav Reynek
Both a poet and an engraver, Bohuslav Reynek (1892-1971) was one the of Czech creators who moved from a pictorial medium to poetry. His first period is characterized by a vitality which is close to Expressionism, and is associated with the short history of the 'Czech Expressionist book'. The similarities between literature and visual arts are indeed obvious in the series of the Sešity poesie [Books of Poetry], illustrated with linocuts — in particular those by Josef ?apek — and edited by Reynek in the early twenties. An analysis of one of his collections of poems, Had na sn?hu [The Snake on the Snow], makes it possible to discern thematic convergences and stylistic connections between visual and literary expressions, based on a certain difficulty in identifying the pictures, which are quite abstract in style. Reynek' s interest in animals — which represent both pure contingency and pure transcendence — , an interest he shared with many representatives of the expressionist movement, can probably be explained by the particular place animals hold in this ambiguous status of representation. It is emblematic of what one of the texts from Had na sn?hu calls 'the existence hidden in the folds and gathers of a secret being'.
