Setup
AssumingthattheFlightSimulatorisinstalled–youcanstartwithallthreesceneries.Eachonehasareadme.txtor
similarsetup guide. InstallationofIl62modelismuch easierthantheTu154becauseitisasingleexefile,
compressedarchivethatwillextracttoyourFlightSimulatorrootdirectory.IfyoualreadyhavesomeoftheRussian
models(e.g.PTTu154)itwillaskyoutooverwritesomefiles.Resolutionisuptoyou,Idorecommendyounotto
overwrite.Itdependsonyouraircraftprioritybutthese(shared)filesarenotsocrucialanditshouldnotinvokeany
problems.
It is good to test each one scenery and model separately (after each installation) to catch any possible
incompatibility.
Besureyoucompletethejoysticksetupsoyoucangetoneofthismodel'sadvantages(seeoriginalmanualpage
31).YoucanfindthecustomjoystickconfigurationutilitywithclickspotBonamainCaptain'spanel(seepage7).
KLN90BGPSnavigationmoduleneedsafreshairaccycletoupgradeitsinternalnavigationdatabase.Sincewewill
arrangeournavigationmanuallyusingoriginalNVPBequipment–soweleavethisforyourselfstudy.GPSwould
begoodforanoverviewofanactualairplanepositionbutwewillnotneedit.
Atlast–installtheNCalctool.Whenyoustartitforthefirsttime,setyourFlightSimulatorrootdirectoryandtryto
importany*.plnfilefromdirectoryC:\DocumentsandSettings\username\MyDocuments\FlightSimulatorFiles.It
willrememberthesesettings.
Tutorial notes
Mostoftheswitchesonanoverheadpaneldohaveamouseovertooltip.Unfortunatelymanyofthemhavethe
sametext:“VOR/ADF1pointermode”.
Tutorialswitchesarenumberedinorderofappearance.Forsomefrequentlyuseddevices,smallletters,e.g.(c)
areusedasintheoriginalmanual.Sincethelettersusedareallthesame(alphabeticalorderstartingwith“a”),it
maybeconfusing.Foralltheseswitchestherelevantdeviceismentioned.Theseare:

NCalc – route calculation
StartNCalc.exe.
ClickonImport FS *.pln.
Openthe1_LKPR-UUEE.plnfile.NCalcwillopenanewwindowwiththedetailedflightplan.
WehavejustimportedaMSFlightSimulatorflightplantoNCalc.
NowwewillsetRSBNcorrectionforasmanywaypointsaspossible.
Onthescreen,forallwaypointsfromDODEKtoUMclickonthemandSelect beacon,choosetheclosestRSBN
navaidandOK.
ClickonCalculatebutton.
Tip:Whathavewedone?WehavejustselectedtheRSBN<РСБН>beaconsforenroutecorrectionoftheNVPBequipment.It'serroris“about
1%”soitiscommontocheckaircraftpositionatspecificpoints(fixes)withpredefined(calculated)positionrelativetoadirectionalradiobeacon.
InformerUSSRRSBNsystemwaspreferred.SinceNCalcversion4youcanalsouseVOR/NDBandnavigateoutsidetheformerUSSR.
Foreachfixmentionedabove–wehaveaRSBNchannel(twodigitnumber),SmandZmdistancesandMapangle.Withthisinformationwecan
calculateourdeviationand“import”ittotheactualnumbers.
