Mountain View, qui mène une stratégie agressive pour pousser ses Google Apps dans les environnements professionnels, annonce avoir développé des outils d’administration facilitant le déploiement de son navigateur sur les postes de travail en entreprise, Windows, Mac et Linux. La firme de Mountain View indiquesur son blogavoir développé un fichier d’installation MSI qui permet de déployer et de désinstaller les applications automatiquement dans un parc. Dans cette même idée, Google permet également d’intégrer son navigateur dans des politiques de groupe, en ligne avec celles mises en place dans l’entreprise (autorisation d’accès ou l’installation d’extension par exemple). Le groupe tient également à disposition des templates permettant aux administrateurs de personnaliser le navigateur selon leurs desiderata. Enfin, Google Chrome Frame, le plug-in pour IE qui émule le rendu de Chrome dans le navigateur de Microsoft, supporte désormais les politiques de groupe, pour répondre aux problématiques de compatibilité. Le fonctionnement de nombreuses applications d’entreprises reposent en effet sur le navigateur de Microsoft. Une façon pour Google de préparer également une éventuelle migration. Chrome, s’il poursuit sa progression sur le marché des navigateurs, restent nettement en retrait dans les environnements professionnels, derrière Internet Explorer et Firefox, le navigateur de Mozilla - qui ont déjà encadré leurs navigateurs respectifs d’outils de déploiement et d’administration. Selon le baromètre StatCounter, Chrome détient 13,06% de parts de marché en France en novembre, contre 36,74% pour Firefox et 42,01% pour IE (toutes versions confondues). Google affirme que ces nouveaux outils sont accessibles aux abonnés payants de la version entreprise des Google Apps.
