pastfewweekssince14March.Oneofthephone’smajorupdatesisthenew13-
megapixelrearcamera.Althoughitmaybeagreatleapimpressiveenoughformany,
Samsungstrivestotakeitfurtherbyaddinganabundanceoffeaturestoitscamera,
makingitatrue“lifecompanion”.

One of them is the Dual Camera Mode, which is designed to tackle the
problemofexcludingthecamerapersonfromthephotoorvideo.TheDualCamera
Modeallowsyoutotakepicturesorvideoswithboththefrontandrearcamerasat
thesametime.It’suptoyouhowtoarrangethedualimagesorvideos.Youcanhave
itspilt-screenorhaveapicture-in-pictureeffect,whilethein-picturecanbenicely
trimmedwithbordersorframes.

NotonlycantheS4cameratakepicturessimultaneouslyfromrearandfront,
itcanalsocaptureupto100imageswithin4secondsintheDramaShotMode.The
phonethenmergestheseshotsintowhatSamsungcallsamovingcollage.This
wouldprobablycomeinhandywhenyouwanttocapturemomentsofyourchildren
playingsports.

Another useful feature that many will appreciate is the “Eraser”, which
possibly helps getting rid of annoying photo bombers in the background. By
grabbingfiveshotsinquicksuccession,“Eraser”eliminatesobjectsnotinevery
frame,ensuringthatyourphotosareneatandwithoutdistraction.

Ifyoufindtakingplainpicturesisabitboring,you’lllovetheSoundShot
modethatletsyourecordsomeaudiotogoalongwithyouimages.Youcanusethis
totakeanoteofthephoto,ortocapturethesurroundingnoisetoencapsulatethe
exactatmosphereoftheenvironment.

LastbutnotleastistheorganizationtoolofStoryShot.Withthisfeature,
yourphotosarenolongerlistedintheorderinwhichtheyaretaken.Instead,they
areassembledinacollectionaccordingtotimestampandgeo-taggedinformation.

ItisbelievedthatthesefeaturesmaybemadeavailabletoGalaxyS3owners
viaasoftwareupdate.ThoughSamsungdidn’tspecifywhichoneofthefeatures
wouldmaketheirwaytooldermodels,itseemstomethatDramaShotandDual
CamerawouldbetoomuchaburdentoolderCPU.Judgingfromthat,thenew
camerafeaturesmaystillbetemptingenoughformetobuyanewGalaxyS4.
