NGO's Demand Enquiry Into Genocide in Bangladesh by Pakistani Army

GENEVA, UNITED NATIONS,September 25, 2012/PRNewswire/ -- International Club for Peace Research a Belgium Based NGO organized a photograhic demonstration outside the United Nations inGenevato protest against human rights violations inBangladesh(thenEast Pakistan) that took place in 1971 which can be considered as the most concentrated act of genocide in the twentieth century. In an attempt to crush forces seeking independence forEast Pakistan, the West Pakistani military regime unleashed a systematic campaign of mass murder which aimed at killing millions of Bengalis, and likely succeeded in doing so. The representatives also condemned the brutal police/paramilitary operation resulting in the death of scores of innocent civilians including children and women of all ages. The siege by the police force that lasted for several months was an ordeal of worst form of human rights violations witnessed by the 1.7 million inhabitants in its entire history including the periods of military dictatorships of the past. The photos were mainly of victims and the people responsible for this gruesome genocide. Photos also condemned in the strongest terms the opportunistic policies of the then ruling Pakistan Govt. and President for selling out lives of Bengali Muslim's and other Hindu inhabitants ofPakistanto the Pakistani army. The purpose of this demonstration was to raise awareness of the constant Human Rights violations of the minorities in Pakistan and so that the concern authority should do something as early as possible against the inhuman and illegal acts which are used by the Pakistani authorities for silencing the criticism against them.
