Work without further shaping until piece measures 7 (7.25”, 7.5”, 7.75”, 8”, 8.25”) from the

beginning of the armhole shaping. Cast off 9 (10, 10, 11, 11, 12) from beginning of the next

two rows. Work across 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13), K2tog. Place remaining 31 (32, 35, 37, 40, 41)

on a holder. Turn. P2tog P8, (9, 10, 10, 11, 12). Cast off remaining 9 (10, 11, 11, 12, 13) sts.

49) sts. Decrease 1 st at each armhole edge of every right side row 8 times. 29 (33, 33, 37,

37, 41) sts. Work without further shaping until piece measures 4.5” (4.75”, 5”, 5.25”, 5.5”,

5.75”) from the beginning of the armhole shaping, ending on a wrong side row.

Shape neck: Cast off 7 (8, 8, 9, 9, 10) sts from beginning of the next right side row. 22 (25,

Neckband:

With 4mm (US 6) needles and MC, pick up and K20 (22, 22, 24, 24, 26) sts evenly

along the right front neck edge. Pick up and K3 sts along the back neck edge. Knit 20 (20,

22, 24, 26, 26) sts from the holder. Pick up K3 sts along the back neck edge. Pick up and K20

(22, 22, 24, 24, 26) sts evenly along the left front neck edge. 66 (70, 74, 78, 80, 84) sts Work

3 rows in garter stitch. Cast off.

Finishing:

With MC and two 4.5mm (US 7) double point needles, cast on 3 sts. With the

needle with the cast on sts, pick up and K1 st from the cast on corner of the right front

opening edge. Slide all 4 sts to the opposite end of the double point needle and without

turning, pull the yarn from the other end and K2, SSK, pick up and K1 from 2

nd

row of the

right front opening edge. *Slide the 4 sts to the opposite end of the needle and continue by

K2, SSK, pick up and K1 every second row*. Repeat between *'s along the front opening until

the cast off row of the neckband has been reached. Repeat for the left front, beginning at

the cast off edge of the neckband and working towards the cast on edge. Mark the left front

for the position of 7 buttons spaced evenly, beginning at the first row of pattern on the

waist section and ending just below the neckband. Make 7 chain stitch button loops with

crochet hook to fit buttons and sew to correspond with marked button positions to the

inside of the right front opening.
