Exploring the Coloring Book Activity
Students use the paint tools of
IntelliPics Studio 3
to
color the pages of a coloring book. Coloring Book is a
simple coloring activity that is suitable for young
students.
1. A line drawing of a cat sitting next to a box of chalk
displays, ready for a student to fill it with color.
The toolbar across the top allows students to
hear instructions, pick painting tools, and
navigate the pages of the activity. There is a color
toolbar at the bottom of the page. The toolbar on
the left allows students to select the size of brush.
2. Select the Fill tool (it looks like a paint can) and
then click a color in the toolbar at the bottom.
3. Click an object in the picture with the Fill tool (e.g.,
click the grass) and it will fill in with the color you
have chosen.
4. Select the Brush tool (it looks like a paint brush)
and then click a brush size and a color. Use the

Coloring Book Template to create additional coloring
activities.

Adding a New Background or Object

and open the Productivity Templates folder.

Book Template.
3. Select a category from the red toolbar at the right

across the bottom of the page.

Category drop down list to locate a different
background or object in the Picture Library.

select a new picture. Click Insert and OK to put
your selected picture into the toolbar of available
backgrounds or objects. Remember to rename
your button.
8. Alternatively, you can

File button. Then, navigate to a background or
object you wish to use. You may have a picture
stored elsewhere on your computer, or on another
CD.
9. When you locate the picture you want, choose it
and click OK. The picture will insert in the toolbar.
10. Proceed with the steps on pages 3–5 to create your
custom coloring page.
Important!
Be sure that any picture you select
has only a small number of areas to fill, to keep
the activity short. The areas should be large
enough to be easy for you to fill with the paint
bucket. Also, test any picture you select for breaks
in the lines, as the color will “leak” through an area
that is not completely closed.
