Dale Pistilli, Vice President of Marketing, Branded Products, Western Digital TITLE A New User Experience Key to Industry Success ABSTRACT Consumers’ lives today are recorded almost exclusively in digital form. Many consumers rely on a variety of digital devices like camcorders and computers, digital media like flash drives and portable external hard drives, and an assortment of techniques to preserve and enjoy their most precious content. However, consumers often have poor experiences and risk losing their content because the products are not as simple and intuitive as they expect. The storage industry has an incredible opportunity to deliver an engaging user experience, guiding consumers along every step of the digital content management process – from storing and protecting photos, videos and music to sharing and interacting with that content. This presentation would explore these opportunities and suggest methods of achieving a superior user experience from storage vendors BIOGRAPHY Dale Pistilli is vice president of marketing for Western Digital’s Branded Products Group where he is responsible for driving all branded marketing activities including hardware and software product definition, product marketing, marketing strategy and consumer insights. Pistilli has over fifteen years of Product Marketing experience in consumer product companies.Before joining WD, Pistilli was director of product marketing at Logitech where he ran the Notebook and Core Mouse Business.He also served as director of business development, driving Logitech’s entry into the digital home space with acquisitions of the Harmony remote and Squeezebox digital music businesses.Prior to Logitech, Pistilli led the Pronto software business at Philips Remote Control Systems Business Unit. Mr. Pistilli’s entrepreneurial experience includes leadership roles in three Silicon Valley startups as well as a key role in the leveraged buyout and subsequent sale of General Time/Westclox. He has a Master of Business Administration in marketing and finance from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s of science in computer science and economics from Duke University.
