Inspired by Monika Bullinger at the time I was joining the “inter-national quality of life” working group, being employed at the university hospital of Hamburg-Eppendorf in 2003 to 2005, the work was ultimately finalized between 2005 and 2008 in various places in Germany. Step by step, sometimes just one step forwards and two steps backwards, the thesis slowly grew.
