Property of an apothecary from Montpellier sold at auction (1666). Publication of the unpublished proceedings of the sale. The inventory clearly shows the place which cosmetics and the sale of spices occupied in pharmaceutical commerce ; it bears witness to the penetration of drugs from the New World ; it attests to the predominance of the plant kingdom in therapy ; it reveals the evolution of the apothecary towards an increasingly specific professionalism.
