The painting, Southern German c. 1470, depicting what may be the door of a pharmacy armoire, is of major importance in the history of still-life painting. Among other objects seen are a pharmacy jar with an illegible inscription, and a gourd-shaped bottle containing a remedy for tooth-ache.
