Welcome Spartan, to this tutorial is for current resident students to retain your current space and choose your meal plan. This system is best used with Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater or Firefox 3.0 or greater, if possible. This system uses pop-ups, so it’s best to turn off all pop-up blockers. If you use a Google toolbar, keep in mind that it has a built-in pop-up blocker which may cause problems if you do not turn it off. To begin, you first need to go to the Campus Living Services Web site at www.liveon.msu.edu. Once you’re on the Campus Living Services Web site, click on MyHousing and log in using your Net ID and password. On this page, you will be able to view your MyHousing ID number and various other information with updates pertaining to sign up and your room assignment. This information is available throughout the year and may change periodically. You will be able to sign up for only one space at a time. If you need to change your assignment after assigning yourself a space, please contact a Housing Specialist at www.liveon.msu.edu under Fall 2010 Returning Student Housing Sign-Up. Under the header, “Sign-Up,” current residents please click on the“Click Here”link to proceed.
You will need to sign your contract. First, review the Rules for Living in the Residence Halls by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. Then review the Contract by clicking the link at the bottom of the page. (If you are 17 and under, you will need to print the contract, have your parent or guardian sign, and follow the instructions to send to Campus Living Services.Printing and sending the contract is only a requirement for students 17 and under.) Then click “I Agree.” By clicking I Agree on the Housing Contract page, you are electronically signing your contract with Campus Living Services. Once you agree, you will be taken to your contract signed page.You will be able to view the date you signed your contract.You have 14 days from that date to cancel your fall 2010 contract. Next, click on “Continue to the Housing System to Complete Your Housing Sign Up!”
Once again, log in with your Net ID and password and click “yes” to close the pop-up box. If you are looking to view your current space, click on the link at the left under “Room Information and Requests” to view your Room Assignments, Roommate(s), and Meal Plan.If you prefer, you may skip the following steps and go directly to “Live On” to sign up.Select Room Assignments, view your current space, and select by clicking on the room number under the header “Bed Space”. You will be able to view your bed space information, including current rate (subject to change for fall 2010). Close out of this screen.To view your current roommate(s), click on “Roommate.” Click on “Plans – Meals and Other” to view your meal plan, rates, and Spartan Cash, if applicable. If you are currently living off campus, you may not have a current assignment to rd view. OffCampus students will be able to sign up after February 3, unless being selected as roommate by a current resident or during Rock the Block on January st 31 . Offcampus students may contact Housing Assignments atliveon@msu.eduto begin their sign up. Click on Live On on the left hand side Click on Sign Up for a Room on Campus In this part, you will be able to:  Searchfor a room, Lock the room, select the bedspace, enter roommate choice if desired,arrange the bed spaces, Confirm your space, select a meal plan for you and your roommate choice, confirm your meal plan(s), and receive a receipt of your confirmed room for the 2010-2011 academic year. Click on Continue to view a list of the buildings available.Please keep in mind that you are only able to see the rooms available to you, depending on the sign up period we are currently in. Please go towww.liveon.msu.eduto view more detailed sign up information. You may click on specific buildings to learn more information about each building and neighborhood or you may directly look for available rooms by clicking on ‘Search for Rooms on this page. Click on a specific building. You may receive a Security pop up box.Click ‘yes to go on. You will be able to view details about the Neighborhood, Building Floor Plan, Live On Benefits, Lifestyles, and Living Learning of Neighborhoods. Click on ‘Search for Rooms on this page to continue to lock your desired room and, specifically, bed space during the selection process. You will be able to view available spaces. If the building has multiple spaces available, you may click ‘Next or ‘Last to view additional pages of rooms.
If you are not satisfied with the choice, other buildings and or neighborhoods may be available.To view other locations, you may click ‘Back to Search for Rooms to make another building selection. Once you are ready to select a room, click on the ‘GO link on the right hand side of the room details to lock the room you want. You will have 15 minutes to complete the process. On this page, you will be able to view the room you selected and the additional available bed spaces.You will only see the opens spaces in the room.You will view the Fall 2010 semester space and the Spring 2011 space.You will be selecting for both semesters, as noted in your Housing Contract. If there are roommates currently assigned to the same room, you may view them by clicking on the ‘Current Roommate Info button. Now you are ready to select your room.Click on ‘Lock Room at the bottom right of the screen. Now you will click the box under the heading ‘I Want to confirm your space. Continue down the page to enter your roommate selection.If you do not wish to choose a roommate to assign with you, continue to the next page by clicking on ‘Only Assign For Me. (If you would like this room as a single, please contact Housing Assignments Office at 877-9LIVE ON orliveon@msu.edu.) In this process, you may choose 1 or more roommates, depending on the number of available bed spaces in a room.Some rooms on campus are triples or quads and can accommodate more than two students.Those spaces will show, if available. Forsuitemates, please take advantage of our Rock the Block event on st January 31or visit our live on online for more information. You will need the MyHousing ID and correct spelling of the last name of the student you are selecting.If your roommate choice is currently living off campus, they may not have MyHousing ID.They may verify this by logging into their MyHousing. Ifthey cannot log in, they must contact the Housing Assignments Office to fill out an application.Once their application is processed, they will be able to view their MyHousing ID and will then also be able to be selected by as a roommate or choose their own space during the correct sign up periods. Enter your choice of roommates MyHousing ID and tab over to enter the correct spelling of their last name.If the selection is not able to complete the process with you, you will receive an ‘Invalid or ‘Warning if you have selected a room that you are unable to select, such as a gender conflict.Rooms are gender specific. If you are choosing a roommate, once your choice is entered, select ‘Assign me and Pull Roommate.
If you do not wish to choose a roommate to assign with you, continue to the next page by clicking on ‘Only Assign For Me. Now you will select your meal plan. Please view your choices.If you would like additional information about our on campus meal plans, please click on the link provided to visit Eat at State.com. Once you have decided, please click on the box provided next to your choice. Click on continue at the bottom of the page, to begin the confirmation process. View your selection and click on continue to confirm If you have chosen a roommate, you will need to also choose a meal plan for the roommate and confirm their choice on the same page that you are able to choose a meal plan. You will be able to view the bed space and meal plan for both you and your roommate on the confirmation page. You are now able to view your room selection and your meal plan selection for the entire academic year, Fall 2010 and Spring 2011. If you would like to print a copy, please click on “Print this page.” An email confirmation will also be sent to your msu web mail account. A confirmation will be sent to your roommate msu web mail account at the same time that it is sent to your web mail.Your roommate will need to sign their contract for the 2010-2011 academic year within 14 days of your confirmation.If they do not sign the contract in 14 days, their space will be released to be selected by another student. You may come back to MyHousing to view your assignment at any time. Once your contract is signed, you have 14 days to cancel the contract. You may view your contract signed date by logging into MyHousing and click on the contract link. Once your bed space is confirmed, you will have to contact Housing Assignments Office at 877 9 LIVE ON orliveon@msu.eduto change your confirmed space.If you wish to cancel your confirmed room, it must be done within the 14 day contract cancellation period.
