BY
The Right Hon. SIR EDWARD FRY, G.C.B.
(formerly Lord Justice Appeal)of
introductionI have much pleasure in writing a word by way of
to the following pages. They deal with a subject of great import-
ance to us as a nation, both in commercial and social life. In
the complicated state of society now existing, the temptations to
bribery and corruption are manifold, and the forms which they
assume are sometimes misleading. I think that the present
volume will be found helpful to those who desire, amidst these
complications, to follow the path of honesty and to those who are
called upon to advise on questions of this nature. I therefore
willingly commend the volume to the attention of the public.
