TUTORIAL FOR THE
MOUNTAINLYNX ONLINE CATALOG
This tutorial will show you how to search the MountainLynx online catalog
for print books, electronic books, materials in the Media Center and in the Center
for Teaching Excellence. It consists of three parts. Part one covers searching by
title, author, and advanced subject search. The second part outlines how to
access the catalog from off campus. Part three describes how to search other
West Virginia University libraries and how to request materials through
interlibrary loan.

The "Search By" on the right window lists the seven search options. You
enter your search terms in the "Search For" window.

To locate materials by title, first highlight the title option in the "Search By"
window. Then enter the title in the "Search For" window. Omit initial
articles (a, an, the …). Either click on the "Search" button or press the
"Enter" key on your computer to run the search.

the Library's stacks, the Media Center, or the Center of Teaching
