A prophetic threat is headed toward Earth and it can't be stopped. The Bible calls it Wormwood but the dragons know it as Nimburu. Yet, it means the same to all; death, destruction, and unbelievable mutations. The knights of the Hampton Shire will face a multitude of challenges as they struggle to save humanity. President Strump sees an opportunity to rule the world. An evil, mutated general by the name of Victor Grasmere is hell-bent on conquering the planet. Their success depends upon the killing of Commander Eric Hampton. However, they aren't the only ones that want the commander dead. In the shadows lurks a mysterious alien with a planetary vengeance on his mind. The balance of life on Earth is in peril as modern man is cast into the midst of great tribulation. When all seems lost, First Knight Claude Windsor discovers a possible key to restoring mankind's hope for survival. The knights must quickly locate where it is, what it is, and how to use it. Time is of the essence, for the terrifying curse of Nimburu is on the move, and it leaves nothing in its wake!
"It will come from above then water and blood shall flow.
Screams shall fill the sky in a time of both prophecy and laws.
So pray if there is time but fight the web of disaster that grows.
Seek out the balance, for terror rises when Wormwood falls."

About the Author
W. Wright resides in a small rural community located within the foothills of North Carolina. Surrounded by solitude and wine vineyards, he focuses his time on writing as well as painting and is an award-winning artist. As a pre-teen, he became a very avid reader. After taking a creative writing class he began to write short stories for his friends. The idea for  Brimstone’s Knight  came about from his experience with organized religion, his unquenchable thirst for knowledge regarding the Knights Templar’s, the love of mythical dragons, and like most people, his experience of life and love.

Foreword
So much of our world is strange and hard to fully comprehend, from creatures of complex design to natural formations of plant and stone. Who knows what lies out beyond our solar system, or within the deeper bowels of our own planet for that matter? Science can’t always explain everything but then again, neither can religion. It’s possible that at some point, in time, humankind must set aside both science and religion, because neither will explain what we may encounter in our future. It has long been thought that a realm exists between science and faith that our ancient forefathers called mysticism. It all but ruled the dark ages. There are many myths and legends of wizards with powerful stones and crystals that controlled the fate of man in many cultures. Consider the ancient Oracle of Greece; many traveled the world to seek its wisdom. Its accuracy was undeniable. Over the centuries, mysticism has been forgotten but that doesn’t mean it was never real, or that it doesn’t exist in some other form today. Perhaps it is some level of science we have yet to rediscover. Nobody would argue that we have far removed ourselves from our distant past. We have become ignorant of what was once our world’s ancient ways of life. Much of it was lost by the end of the dark ages. Over time, we ignorantly deny it. Who is to say that mysticism or some other new finding won’t someday dictate the very laws of physics in our fascinating world? The word Wormwood means bitter or toxic, its name resides in the Holy Scriptures. I believe it is there for a reason. When thinking of world disasters, it makes a person consider all things with a sober and logical frame of mind. So, I dare ask this question to those who are filled with bigotry.
“In a time of great peril, does it really matter if the hand extended to help is straight, gay, lesbian, or transgender? Black, white, Asian, Latino, human or mechanical?”
Should a time come in which mankind can find neither comfort nor protection; all that will remain for humanity will be hope.
"It will come from above then water and blood shall flow.
Screams shall fill the sky in a time of both prophecies and laws.
So pray if there is time but fight the web of disaster that grows.
Seek out the balance, for terror rises when Wormwood falls."
Dragon Prophecy
Chapter One

Death’s Door
Singe bent down and nuzzled Sunburst. When she did, there was a slight stirring. Brimstone also noticed and realized the young dragon had begun breathing again, it was weak and labored but he was breathing. Singe gasped and said to her mate, “It’s been over an hour, are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Brimstone looked over at Starr and saw the young man’s chest rising and falling with breath once again. His skin color had returned to normal. Brimstone’s eyes bulged in amazement as he recalled an ancient dragon prophecy and knew it was what Singe had been thinking.
“ Ash, listen to me, ” Phoenix spoke with a soft rumble into her knight’s mind as she nudged her away, " Turn around and look." Slowly, Ash pulled away from her dragon and turned.
At first, she thought her eyes were deceiving her. She rubbed them multiple times to clear her vision from the tears. “How is this possible?” she gasped, as her mind was locked in total disbelief at what she was seeing. Logic told her it was impossible, yet she was witnessing it!
Eric sat on the sofa. “It’s my fault; I never should have adopted the boy. The oath clearly states that a knight is never to father children.”
Claude paused from dialing and replied, “Eric, you didn’t exactly father the boy, you just raised him at his mother’s dying request.”
Eric shrugged his shoulders. “What’s the difference? I allowed myself to become emotionally attached, just as I have with you. Isn’t that the real reason the oath clearly states that we are not to marry or father children? Gay men were chosen to be knights because our lives are expendable. Our deaths won’t leave children orphaned or widows grieving.”
Claude softly responded, “Eric, if you’re looking for a reason to pin the blame for his death on yourself; then yes. But we are all knights, Starr was a knight, and sometimes we die, it happens. I don’t think anyone should blame themselves for experiencing love.” Eric didn’t respond. Claude was still fighting back his tears as he continued, “Is it not love that drives all of us to do what we need to do? Is it not love that makes us accept our fate and risk our lives to save others?” Eric stared at Claude, his partner was right. Love was the source behind their mission. Love was a powerful thing; it inspired, motivated, and fueled determination. No matter how the chips fell, no matter how hard the struggle, in the end all that really mattered was love. Without it, life would have little purpose.
Outside, Starr was lying on his back but had bent a knee upward and Sunburst was moving a wing. Ash tried to call for Eric and Claude but her voice wouldn’t respond. She took several deep breaths and after several attempts she finally managed to scream “Eric!” Claude’s finger was about to punch the last digit of the Sheriff department’s number when he and Eric heard the tran
