Concepts related to communication, interpersonal relations, critical thinking, research process, decision-making and ethical and legal issues needed to help students work as effective members of the health team will be addressed. The student will be introduced to the research process steps.

1-Definition of Nursing, Client, Environment and Other
related Concepts Nursing  There are many definitions for nursing, such as: Common dictionary definitions refer to the nurse as “a person, usually a woman, trained to care for the sick”.
Florence Nightingale (1860)defined nursing as "The act of utilizing the environment of the patient to assist him in his recovery”. She considered a clean, well ventilated and quiet environment essential for recovery. Virginia Henderson (1960):unique function of the nurse is to “The assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that he would perform unaided if he had the necessary strength, will, or knowledge, and to do this in such away as to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible.  Nurse concerned with both well and ill individuals. ANA (American Nursing Association) (1980)defined nursing as "The diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual or potential health problems". ANA (1987),nursing is "Nursing diagnosis and treatment of human responses to health and to illness".
