O n some days, everything feels a little damp. Where does that water come from? Let’s do a deep dive into moisture and humidity!

What humidity is
A lthough the air around us usually looks clear, it is not empty. Along with the oxygen and other gases that make up our atmosphere there are floating particles of dust, smoke, tree pollen—and water.
In fact there is a lot of water in the air, in the form of vapor. We can’t see it, but often we can feel it, or the lack of it.

W hen we talk about the water in the air when it’s not raining or snowing, we refer to it as humidity. The humidity is rising when the amount of water in the atmosphere around us increases.

Measuring humidity
H umidity is how much water vapor, or moisture, is in the air. We measure it in grams of moisture in a cubic meter of air, or g/m3.
There are two main scales for measuring humidity:
Absolute Humidity
Relative Hyumidity
