Project Glass is a research and development program by Google to develop an augmented reality head-mounted display(HMD). Prototype At Google’s I/O ĐonferenĐe in ϮϬϭϮ, ͞Edžplorer Editions͟ of the glasses ǁould ďe sold to deǀelopers for $1,500 in early 2013. The Glass FoundrLJ eǀents ǁill ďe hosted at Google’s San Francisco and New York officers on January 28 and 29 and February 1 and 2.
The Future
Babak Parviz, Director of Project Glass, recently commented that Project Glass remains a work in progress and the details surrounding its function, use, and benefit are yet to be determined. Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, announced his hopes to release the consumer version of Project Glass, sometime in 2014. The company is also aiming for a price point below $1,500.
