th The Trio World School lent a helping hand for a social cause on the 28 ofSeptember 2012by organizing a fund raising event. The proceeds of the event were donated to Vathsalya Charitable Trust to pay for a life-saving surgery of an abandoned 18 month-old-baby girl, Ankita. The middle school students (Years 7, 8 & 9) along with the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) conducted the event. The entire school joined hands and contributed used books, magazines and CD's for the fair. The event culminated into a spectacular sale of over 3000 used books (priced fromRs 10onwards). This was also supported by cake stalls and games which were well organized by exuberant students and enthusiastic parents. These vibrant groups of children and parents managed to raise a whopping sum of Rs.1,25,000 in just 2 hours.
The school's Managing Director, Mr. Naveen K.M, made a generous contribution ofRs.50,000 for the cause. He said, "To believe in a cause, whether big or small, will always make us understand the true value of mankind." Not only have these children shown the community that one person's trash could be another's treasure, but also gave a whole meaning to understand that life is indeed precious. They worked passionately to raise the much needed funds that could save Ankita's life. Mr. Naveen was deeply overwhelmed and appreciated the students, teachers and the parents in their support for this wonderful cause.
