READING, England,Oct. 24, 2012/PRNewswire/ -- UL-STR, an independent provider of quality assurance (QA) testing, audit, inspection and responsible sourcing services for the consumer products industry, will present a seminar on "Product Safety Risk Assessment: How to Conduct Risk Assessment" onNovember 14, 2012at its UK laboratory in Reading. The training course is part of an ongoing seminar series on the latest QA issues being offered at UL-STR's UK offices.

The "Product Safety Risk Assessment: How to Conduct Risk Assessment" seminar will provide an overview of a risk assessment – which is required by both the General Product Safety Directive and the Toy Safety Directive – and give practical guidance on the approaches that can be utilized. Attendees will learn what a risk assessment is, guidelines and standards, design evaluations, age grading, raw materials, in process issues, and standards and legislation. Keith Richards, who serves as Technical Director for European Toys and Children's Products at UL- STR and has over 25 years of experience in toy and consumer product testing, will lead the session.
