Utimaco Sets New Standards for Hardware Based Security Technology in Terms of Reliability and Quality
PR Newswire AACHEN, Germany, August 8, 2012
AACHEN,Germany,August 8, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
Utimaco raises the level of quality and reliability in the HSM sector to a new level with today's release of its SafeGuard CryptoServer LAN V4 network appliance.
With the fourth generation of its hardware security module (HSM) SafeGuard CryptoServer V4, the German specialist for HSM sets new standards for reliability and high availability. "Our network appliances are already known for their extraordinary reliability and quality. But the new CryptoServer LAN V4 achieves even higher reliability, saves further operational costs and is in many cases even faster than before," says Dieter Bong, CryptoServer Product Manager at Utimaco. With all this in mind, the engineers at Utimaco keep a constant eye on long-term secure investments: building on the well-proven design, they optimized and replaced the entire hardware of the communication interface. In the new V4, the FIPS level 3 and level 4 certified hardware security modules feature a better and future-proof hardware platform. They possess redundant power-supply systems which lead to even higher reliability; thus, a broken power supply unit can safely be changed during operation. Furthermore, the fourth generation of CryptoServer LAN has lower operational costs in data centers due to advanced remote monitoring options that can be automated. "With this release, we provide the hardware platform for a whole range of new software extensions to our products that are scheduled for the upcoming months", reveals Andreas Philipp, CryptoServer Head of Sales. For example, there is a significantly advanced integrated remote monitoring platform and support for IPv6 is planned. We consistently respond to market requirements with this re-designed V4," summarises Philipp. With many years of market experience, Utimaco has always known how to respond to the requests for product quality as opposed to applied cryptography due to their well-established direct client contacts and through their qualified partner network.
