If you think most of your creditors ways fall within the list of offensive practices defined in the law, then you know that you can take a stand against the violation of the creditor.
How to Stop Creditor Harassment
The first couple of things that you need to do is contact the creditor first and tell them of your complaints. If possible, make arrangements and tell them you do now want to be called on at nighttime. You can even state that you feel harassed with their collection practices. State what you know in the law so that you have a basis why you felt harassed by them. If you cannot stop creditors from harassing you this way, it would be the time that you ask assistance from the Consumer Welfare Department or Federal State Commission or whatever consumer welfare agency that's in your place.
What to Do After Reporting
By the time you confront the creditor about their harassment, you should expect changes in their collection conducts. Otherwise, there would be serious consequences if you already report the misconduct to the state or federal department. However, you should also face the fact that even though you were able to stop creditors from harassing you, your debt will not go away.

If confronting won't work, you can ask assistance from the Consumer State Department or Federal Department. Even though you have put a stop to the harassment, they still have the right to collect.
