GeneralDescriptionofte Course The Business Creation course is a part of the nodal theme of Entrepreneushipintheundergraduate curriculum inManagement. Students are expected to reflctontheirown personal andprofessionallong termgoals and to evaluatethepssibilityofbecoming entrepreneurs, cretingtheirownbusinesses.Thecourseallowstudentstolearnandpracticedifferentethodologiesfor addressing the identificationfbusinessopportunities, as well as frthe generation and implementationofthseideas. Studentslearnhowtostrucureandpresentabusin essplan,withtheobjectiveofreducing the levels of risk asociatedtostarting anewbusinessventure. 2. Thecase for the Busines Creationcourse In professional practice, a graduate oftheManagementprogrammaychoseoneoftwodifferentpaths:tobecoe a manager,wherethekeyresponsibilityisomanageexisting resources inaprivae orpublicorganization; or to become an enrepreneur,wheretheindividualdecideso lead an independent economic life, starting anewfirm.Ingeneralterms,thelargepart ofthe curriculumin Management isfcusedonprovidingthestudentswithhe knowledge, techniques, instruments andapabilitiesneeded to work as managersin existing organizations. TheEntrepreneurshipnodeseekstorecoverthebala nce,seekingtoehancetheknowledgeandcapabilitiesthatare necessary for thecreationofnebusinessventures.Businesscreationisunderstood today as a strategically importantpartofeconomicandsocialdeveloment.In the case ofthisCol ombia,isevientintheinstitutional framework thathasbeen created in the country for theprmotionofEntrepreneurship, which incldesawidevarietyofinstrumentsandactionbypublicand private institutions. Gradatesof Universidad de Los Andes willnotbebsentfromthis process and will understand and manage the multiple options at theirdisposalif they chooseEntrepreneurshiasa careerand lifeoption.
