CONTENTS
Europe will always need fuel to keep the engines of its economy turning. Euroabstracts’ five review sections – innovation trends, knowledge society, competitiveness, environment and technology – are packed full of a wide spectrum of interesting new publications.
In an interview with Reinhard Büscher, Head of Unit for Innov ation Policy Development at the Enterprise and Industry DG, the magazine explores new actions the Commission has launched, and the ramifications of PAXIS for future policy at the EU, nationalandregionallevels.
Like a fragile baby, innovative new technological ventures often need an incubator during the early part of their lives. We review a technology business incubation ‘tool kit’ devised by UNESCO, the UN’s scientific, educational and cultural arm.
PAXIS – the European Commission’s Pilot Action of Excellence on Innovative StartUps – offered just that. Now that it has come to an end, PAXIS has published an extensive manual detailing good practice in supporting innovative new companies.Euroabstractsdelves into this groundbreaking initiative’s legacy and examines some of the shining examples of good practice identified.
